I started Wayne Art Center's Stone Sculpture class with Piera Raffaele last September, and every session has been a pleasure!

Piera balances instruction, encouragement, and entertaining conversations into each class, and every student feels seen and supported.

No matter how my first attempt at sculpting a gorgeous pink slab of alabaster turns out, I’m a fan of this place, and this teacher!

There's nothing like the Wayne Art Center. I have studied here and had fun here for twenty-five years. It's a community of friends who socialize in and out of class. I attend and support the events. My artwork has improved with experience and with the guidance and instruction of supurb instructors. Nancy Campbell's directorship and staff is fantastic. Take a tour, you will see what I mean.

The Wayne Art Center is a truly wonderful place. The time and dedication that the staff puts into curating their exhibits is amazing. They feature not only local artists, but also artists from all across the country. The staff is warm and welcoming and you can really feel their passion for art. I really enjoyed the Galley Shop which offers a unique collection of handmade crafts, ceramics, and jewelry. It's a great stop if you need a special gift for someone. There is something for everyone with programming for both children and adults in not only drawing and painting, but also culinary, ceramics, jewelry making, and music. In short, I definitely recommend visiting!

The Wayne Art Center has become the premier supporter of artists not only in our community but also in our six-state mid-Atlantic region. The Center serves as both an art gallery and an art school with a gifted faculty. There is something for everyone ranging from art camp for kids to major shows of professional artists. The center has two spectacular galleries and over a dozen shows a year. Through her vision, leadership and energy, Nancy Campbell, the Executive Director, gives all her heart to making the Wayne Art Center a home for artists. I often remark how lucky I am to have the support of Nancy and her staff and to have met and worked with so many talented people.

I’d like to preface by saying this has no reflection on Mark Gruener’s class as my daughter really enjoyed his Realistic/Pixar drawing class.
When I signed up, online, I had no idea the size of this studio and that I would need to remember names and the name of the class etc,. My child and I walk in and go directly to the front desk to ask where the 4:30 class was located. She says sternly & with zero customer service “Well, how am I supposed to know what 4:30 class you signed up for?!” Then she says “Can you take your sunglasses off and let me see your eyes?!” As I slide them down to show her my eyes, I’m in dismay and say “Is there a reason you needed to see my eyes?” She smirks and responds with “Uh yeah, because we’re inside.” I was speechless only because it was I couldn’t believe how confrontational & rude she was. Someone else was behind me and heard the whole exchange.
Every Tuesday, as we walk in, my daughter whispers to me “There’s the mean lady.” I’m relieved that the class is over and I no longer have to go there. And since this lady is so bothered that I had my sunglasses on, maybe she shouldn’t be so quick to be rude. I have rosacea and depending on my stress level, it can be severe at times. I wear my sunglasses to cover as I’m very insecure about it.
My daughter loves art, but I’m sure I can find other studios in the area.
