This place is definitely worth a stop. So much history to see and the folks who run it are very knowledgeable and friendly. Around an hour for a complete tour and being able to see everything.

They have quite a bit here. I visited during the Van Lear Festival and received something of a private tour. It is very close to Butcher Hollow, Loretta Lynn's Homeplace so it is easy to stop by and check this place out.

Took my wife to see Loretta Lynn's child hood home. Nice drive there beautiful scenery. Go to webs store while ur down there

Incredible place that you need to stop by! The building itself is one of the original buildings from the movie Coal Miners Daughter. Inside you'll get a glimpse of what it was like living during those times. Great Place, Great People!!!

Very interesting museum featuring Loretta Lynn and coal mining memorabilia. There are 3 floors, no elevator, so be prepared for stairs.
Loretta's Home opens for inside tours in May. We went in April, so only got to see the outside.

This place was not even open and when you call the number for information no one answers the phone. A reliable source advice me that there had been numerous calls to find about touring with no results. This was a very big disappointment especially when there was so much traffic of visitors on the busiest week they would possible have due all the visitors coming to the area that wanted to add the historic center to the visit to learn more about the rich history

If you know of the area and are interested in the history of Van Lear Then I highly recommend. I think you have to make an appointment for a tour. Plus you are just a few miles from where Loretta Lynn grew up.
