Fantastic teacher and amazing school! Mark Stolzenberg took me from an amateur actress to working and learning in film in just 6 months! He also helped me with audition prep, which resulted in an acceptance and scholarship to a top acting conservatory. I started going this school about two years ago for the first time. It was a great experience and mark has been great at helping me get out of my comfort zone to become a good actress. I ended up signing up again this year for the “get your act together” coarse. So far it’s been great, im really getting to know so much more about the industry apart from just the acting part. Mark and Karen are absolute gems~
Tbh I was on the fence at first, thinking they just wanted me to stay in classes so they could make money (and who doesn’t nowadays) - but the criticisms and feedback are on point. I come from a bit of theater, and the advice on how to come off effectively on camera is so valuable.

But what really grabs me is how positive my experience has been. It’s not just “this is the reality of how HARD it is to make it in this industry” — it twists it on the head with “the industry can be tough, but this is what you need to make it”. Mark and Karen REALLY want their students to succeed! It’s like the difference of constantly telling yourself you “can’t” and constantly telling yourself “I can, if”.

Additionally, they really are quite flexible. I signed up for the essentials classes, but Mark trusted me enough to take a more advanced course (star in a movie) — and my credit on the essentials class doesn’t expire. I’ve struggled due to life events making it to other acting classes, and I just had to eat my money there - but Mark and Karen understand that things happen. People get busy, loved ones pass away, etc. They’ll still be there when you’re ready again, and they’ll be absolutely stoked to welcome you back.

I’ve read in a review before about “off” humor, and I honestly don’t understand it. The industry has banked on stereotypes and outdated humor, and it’s heading in a more accommodating direction - but it is what it is. Mark means well, always. Karen is the biggest, most supportive cheerleader. I’ve never felt uncomfortable or unsafe or offended — speaking as a female Filipino immigrant. This is the most accepting, helpful, enjoyable acting school in NY.

Best acting class I've ever taken and I still go every week to fine tune my craft. Mark is so knowledgeable and experienced and it's clear in the way he runs his classes and his feedback. The class extremely hands-on and you're in front of the camera day 1 which is the best way to learn as an actor. Mark's feedback is GOLD and 100% made me a more professional actor. I also took the Commercial Acting, Business of Acting, and Agent Showcase electives which really filled in the gaps of experience. I would give it 10 stars out of 5 if I could.
