Marcie is amazing! She has such a talented way of making class and learning a new craft fun, she is incredibly encouraging and brings out the best in her students. The exercises she has us perform are not only good for acting but good for overall life skills. I am truly looking forward to progressing in such a safe and welcoming environment. The Actor’s Circle is an amazing place! I’ve been a student here for almost 3 years and you can’t find a more professional, nurturing experience. Marcie finds a way to integrate all levels of experience in the same class each and every week. I’ve had instruction going back 30 years, including Second City Chicago and Marcie’s classes are by far my favorite. When Covid hit she was able to transition over to Zoom and add a whole new element of acting instruction. I’m now better prepared for the camera as a result of this period. I love the new studio with the option to work outside or in. The location is very convenient right off the 405. Happy she’s offering both in person and Zoom. The best part of her classes are the students. I’ve made a bunch of new friends and love the challenge of helping new students as well as learning from the veterans.

I’ve been going to the Actors Circle for almost a year and have developed essential skills, noticeable confidence, and invaluable friendships. Marcie is not only an amazing coach, she also cares about the well being of her students. Her method of teaching is effective and fun, and she always makes sure people are pushing outside their comfort zones to continue growing their craft. I’m also very grateful for the care she’s taken following COVID protocols to protect the health of her students while allowing the opportunity to do in-person class. Being at the Actors Circle is always the highlight of my week.

Acting has many pathways and routes that can lead to improvements in the expression of the human form. There are many quality teachers that will expand your thinking, depth and perception in the performing arts. However, there is only one Marcie Smolin. She essentially tricks you into becoming a much better actor by allowing you to slowly feel more comfortable in your own skin - which is priceless beyond learning techniques and tactics in the skill of acting, which she also teaches effortlessly. I've learned character work, dialect work, improv technique, audition technique and most importantly being comfortable and relaxed in being me. The energy and supportive nature of the group creates a fun family environment to let loose and explore and really take risks which in turns translates into me picking up sides and making powerful choices and being confident - which means more and better work. I genuinely love The Actors Circle!

I started attending classes in May 6, 2021 and I can honestly say it has been a positive learning experience. Marcie is professional, has a pleasant personality and she does a great job of providing a space for actors to feel comfortable while at the same time challenging them to take chances. I would definitely recommend her classes to anyone interested in becoming an actor.

When I moved to Los Angeles, it took me awhile to find the perfect acting class. As soon as I found The Actor's Circle, I knew I'd found the best class for me. I feel that it is a safe environment to express myself, make mistakes, and grow as an actor. Marcie is an excellent teacher-supportive, encouraging, and extremely knowledgable. I highly recommend her classes to anyone who is thinking about pursuing a career as an actor.
