I took classes here online for restaurant/hospitality management in 2022/23. After one semester, they told me my course had changed and that I had to pay 900/month out of pocket. When asked if my tuition and grant could cover it, they told me no, it had to be totally out of pocket.

I recently called to try to figure out my loan because MOHELA says that what's due, is due through Sullivan, showing on THEIR accounts. They LAUGHED at me and said that their accounts for me were totally blank.

Truly regret ever, EVER choosing this school. It was a huge waste of money and time, and now my credit score is suffering because of their inability to properly communicate in a timely manner.

I've gone to multiple colleges/universities all over the world thanks to my travels, but not a single one compares to the experience I've had at Sullivan. The experiences and memories I've made all come from the instructors and the opportunities they've offered us students. From the school work to the volunteering events to their personalities and fun stories/life experiences, I've loved having the chance to absorb it all. I've been to amazing schools, but this school tops the charts. My instructors have gotten to know me and my quirks, they've cared about and all my classmates, they're extremely patient (to the point where I think I need to work on my own patience because I aspire to be on their level~namaste). I came to this school just for fun. I already have degrees and a nice career (and back up career) set up for myself, but the chefs truly believe in me and have pulled out talent I didn't know I had. I don't think I have a lot of talent, but more like I'm good at following THEIR fabulous instruction. I hope the young students mature and realize how good they have it at Sullivan.
Their Pastry and their Culinary programs are top tier. I really feel at home here and I don't feel anxious or dread coming to school. I tell other students they're so lucky if they get to come to this school!
Chef Rifkind is a talented, sweetheart of a cake designer and so extremely patient. I really believe that it's thanks to her that I'll be pursuing a career in baking. I wasn't going to, but if someone as skilled and attentive to details and perfect as her says to you "you're talented", what are you gonna do? I'M GONNA BELIEVE THE PROFESSIONAL! I'm so excited. Thanks to her, I've also taken better care of my physical health and gotten a new hobby. Chef Gleason is lively and so understanding. I don't know what's more fun, her class or her stories (I love both). Thanks to her, I focus on taking care of my mental health. Chef Sams talks to me like I'm the sweetest person she's ever met and it makes me feel like a good person and like I want to grow that kind part of myself. Thanks to her, Im healing my emotional health. Plus, she's a hoot. I dream about bread thanks to her class. Then, there's the culinary side. Chef Cunha is the reason I fell in love with the culinary in the first place. To be honest, I was only going to take a class or 2, but now I'm full blown IN THIS. This has been the best time of my life. I'm beyond grateful to all my Chef Instructors. It wouldn't be the program that it is, if you all weren't teaching.

Posting here because they shut Sullivan College for Technology and Design down, a location they had absorbed. The school was awful. When Sullivan University took over they had fired all of the teachers without Masters degrees then only hired on part-time teachers. When the merger happened I was pulled out of class and forced to sign paperwork which I was told was simply just confirming my loans for the University. What really happened was that they were adding additional loans for the merger without my knowing. I wasn't given the time to read through anything and I was openly lied to.
After I had graduated I had to fight tooth and nail for almost a year to get my degree. From what I had heard they later had taken out the computers from that building, expected you to buy a Mac, then shut down the whole location. They blame it on attendance. I blame it on the staff which ran the facility.
If I could go back in time I would stop myself from ever attending such a place. I wish I could get that money back because now I'm stuck with extra debt that will most likely eventually cause me to go bankrupt and with a degree that different locations have laughed off because they see the Sullivan schools as subpar. From the awful assistance in classes, teachers just nodding along to anything you say and then failing you as if they ever offered you a word of advice, to the fact that I had actually made a comment about my mental health being so awful that I wanted to do something irreversible which was ignored by everyone but my classmates, it was just an awful experience. I truly believe mentally I am worse off after attending the school.

I'm in the IT field and had done their Jumpstart program during high school. A lot of these reviews seem to be people surprised that a private college is expensive, what did you expect? My professors have been very helpful and you can contact them about almost any need and they will respond. I am an online student but the experience should persist into the physical experience. They offer free chances at certifications to help you get into fields. If you fail a class and take the penalty for having to pay to do it again, that is on you, this is college not high school and now is the time for your very best effort. If you can get the right tuition for this college, it is very much worth it.

I'm a student currently at Sullivan University. I just had to pay $1,500 to them because I had failed a class and then some how another. They said that financial aid didn't cover all my classes. So I was kept asking how much the financial aid cover. They never gave me a solid response. I had to pay that off just to graduate October the 28th of this year. I still haven't got a decent response for them about how much financial aid has paid and I have paid this money and now I'm with out knowing nothing. It's just mind-bottling that they would do this to people who are of low income who want to further their education for their family

Sullivan University is a For-Profit, private university. All the institution cares about is bringing in money by any means necessary. Nursing students at Sullivan University that actually get through the nursing program (many don't), as of 2022, ONLY 43.3% of nursing students pass the NCLEX which is required for employment in nursing. This information can be found on the Kentucky Board of Nursing: Prelicensure Program of Nursing Benchmarks. This means that 56.7% of Sullivan University nursing students take on tens of thousands of dollars of student loan debt and won't be able to go into nursing. Admissions Advisors are instructed by management to heavily push student loans onto students, even if it means adding a crushing burden of debt onto the students, all for the sake of "hitting the numbers". Not to mention that their student retention rate is terrible. Students that drop out still have to pay the loans they took out, and the way Sullivan prepares their financial package, they have to pay for 3 semesters/quarters at a time. Meaning that if the student drops out after the first semester/quarter, they will still have to pay for the second and third. In the eyes of the admissions office at Sullivan, you are not a student, you are a lead. You are a means to acquire money, that is it. They prey particularly on the underprivileged "leads" and use predatory techniques to rope you into attending Sullivan.

The Department of Education is going after For-Profit schools like these and it is only inevitable before this school shuts down. I will be contacting SU accreditation agencies and everyone else with a bad experience should do the same.

A lot of the bad reviews seem like 'user error' to me. I have been attending Sullivan for an entire year now and haven't had many issues. Although they don't 'baby' you, I have had an easy time getting in touch with staff when I didn't understand something or needed help. My only issues have been with financial aid office. I have been switched from different FA advisers about 3 times now, and re-explaining my situation is very tiring and frustrating. Otherwise, I have had very pleasant experiences at Sullivan.

I can honestly say that transferring to Sullivan University from the University of Louisville was one of the best decisions I ever made. Class sizes are small, so it's easy to ask questions and get help if you need it. The instructor's here aren't just trying to "push you through", they actually care that you learn the material. The food served in the cafeteria is great and all of the staff/personnel are super helpful and friendly. My only complaint however would be the financial planning office. Some of the advisers can be kind of rude and you have to constantly call/send e-mails just to get a response for an appointment, in my experience. It's best to just show-up in person and request a meeting. Other than that, I would highly recommend Sullivan University to potential students.
