You will make really good friends at success Academy, but the learning environment is ineffective. 50 percent of the class is the teachers trying to get the class to be quiet. There is only 15-20 minute lunch and recess is only a courtyard with nothing to do.

I got lucky with some of the teachers I had and they went the extra mile into explaining concepts to me.

My main problem is just with students constantly misbehaving.

The school is great! When my daughter started K I was nervous and thought it was going to be lots of pressure! I was wrong. All they ask is that parents be involve and proactive with THEIR kids education. Well, wait a minute, that is what parents should be doing anyways! Its hard i know;i was pregnant and working fulltime. My daughter loves the school. The homework is the same load as a public school, i know this because i had my older son in Public school 2 blocks down from success and that how i know the comparison. What i love of success is that the communication with teachers is widely open and all staff is there to answer questions about your child. I have heard parents complain that success asks too much but i think those parents need to see if their child can keep up with success model of learning. Its not for everyone. My daughter was at risk of repeating grade because she was a reading level behind! (In DOE public school they would have passed her, again i know this because this was the situation with my son). I worked hard with her at home and at school she was given extra support in smaller groups and one on one time. Success also takes on time arrival serious. I have been late many times and they will call you out for it, but again its my responsibility to get my child on time. Yes things happen they understand but i was late more then 20 times lol so shame on me. Overall, the school is great. They strive to make your child succeed and make sure that your child is working to their fullest potential! Its not for every child so as a parent be always involved in your child's education

This school is a joke. The could care less about their students. Teachers are very rude and disrespectful. Nothing is done because their supervisor is worse. Many students here feel the microaggression from their teachers and they are not happy. Not to mention homework can only be done on Chromebooks. If the library is about to close and you don't have internet service at home you are out of luck. School needs to show respect for people of color and different backgrounds. Sex education in 5th grade, are you serious? Please let the parents take care of that when they are ready.

All the ones putting negative reviews are students who got in trouble for misbehaving and not doing their homework. Obviously, they are going to give 1 star to the school. The school is about discipline and that is very good in this day and age.

Success Academy Sucks!!!!

First off they give you piles of homework. Also if you don’t do something small like looks at a person you get a correction or duduction or major. I hated it and it put me on so much stress. If you get a certain amount of bad points you get a call home or detention. I do not recommend this school

heres a REAL review. the drama at this school is too much. the teachers are not the best. its a lot of pressure. the learning is good. the kids are alright and you get in trouble for everything at this school. the consequences are way to over board . i definitely do not recommend this school.

Lots of people working hard to make an environment that is conducive to learning. Some days the standards can be tedious and hard for the kids to appreciate but that pretty much describes 10-12 year olds. Invincible. Convinced nothing we teach them will have value in the future. 99 out of 100 days it is a great place to be. Much better odds than lots of schools in nyc.

This school is to dramatic! and right after days of test they want to pile us with more work like cmon! and some of the teachers are disrespectful and mean and dont even want to be there. I go to this school and i am glad i am leaving!
