Good selection of music gear and guitars, Stoughton Music Center has been serving the community for years. It offers almost a little bit of everything, but its highlights are in quality teaching and offering an extensive selection of guitars, ukeleles, and mandolins. It’s a gem for the local community and surrounding area.

Excellent selection of acoustic and classical guitars here. Lots of ukeleles too! He has the appropriate accessories, and a great library of sheet music. The owner, Robert, is a talented and friendly guy who is always willing to go the extra mile to meet my needs.

Fantastic selection of ukuleles and amazing service!!! Can we talk about how helpful Robert, the store owner was?!?! I spent hours in his shop trying to decide on a uke. This man tuned the ones I couldn't get right, he must have played a half dozen of them for me so I could hear the differences, he talked to me about the tones, the woods, the origin, the warranty! He helped me find the perfect instrument and I went home a very happy customer. I'll be going back to Stoughton Music Center with my son for a new guitar. You won't find that level of service and attention anywhere else!

Found this place when googling around for Mass. music stores that specialize in ukuleles, and it was absolutely worth the drive. I visited on a relatively sleepy Saturday and was helped by the owner for over two hours as I tried out their selection (mostly Kalas with a spattering of other brands -- I ended up with a Twisted Wood that I'm so far very pleased with). The owner was extremely helpful with recommendations and with answering questions about uke builds/styles. He and some of the teachers who popped in and out for lessons were also very pleasant to chat with (in between helping other customers or students). I would have no qualms recommending SMC to anyone looking to get a hands-on before buying, and will likely come back when it's time for another uke.

This store has been in business for many years. I have purchased over 20 guitars from this establishment. All have been first rate. There are instruments for all ages- for fun or for the serious musician.
The owner, Bob, is terrific. He will beat any legitimate price from other establishments.
If you are looking for a fine music store, I guarantee you will not be disappointed at Stoughton Music.

Great place for kids to start their music lessons, the owner is quite flexible with the days when I am unable to attend classes,really appreciate the teacher and the owner for their kind and knowledgeable gesture. Of course coming for my 2nd kid too for her music classes once she starts her kindergarten.

Small place with few guitars from lesser known manufacturer. Great ukulele section. They cater more towards lessons, pianos, small mix of other instruments, etc. Not a typical guitar store but worth checking out.

We went in looking for a violin for my son. Because we have a lot of kids (who we were watching like a hawk) the owner made us feel unwelcome. Also, they advertise selling Kentucky mandolins, and they don't. We also bought a harmonica and not all the notes worked.

(update) The owner contacted us and sent us 2 replacement harmonicas. Stoughton Music Center is on Kentucky Mandolins website as a dealer, the store themselves do not advertise as a dealer.
