this year is my third year at this school. behavior has always been a significant problem for me and I feel like this school has really helped me

you can tell the teachers are very passionate about helping their students. they’re very kind and they do many nice things for us. but some staff favorite other students more

the only thing that kind of sucks is that most of the kids are very apathetic and/or self-centered, which makes for an unpleasant social experience. It’s hard to make friends here when most of the students aren’t good people. and the SWCEC elementary school in Southbridge is hell

I went here for grades 5-8 and honestly it was terrible. I'm currently 22 and I learned nothing from this place and was academically way behind by the time I was able to return to a regular school. Some staff were great but honestly most sucked. If you care abut you child's education I definitely wouldn't recommend this place

I did a lot of research when looking for a therapeutic school and I WISH I would have come across more reviews. So here is mine. I sent my son here for a 45 day evaluation per my district’s recommendation and I truly wish I never did. My son is only 6.5 and came home with a rug burn gash on his head and he told me that the principle “dragged him to refocusing because he flopped on the ground”. No one called me no incident report was written and not even the nurse even reported it. When I asked what happened they told me “we scooted him” the entire thing was really shady. While I understand accident’s happen especially when kiddos are aggressive and dysregulated dragging them is never acceptable and not reporting it just seemed so suspicious. After I mentioned it it’s like they set him up to fail. His therapist told me when he went to the school for therapy my son was very different around the staff vs around him. My son struggled with severe anxiety and they told me it wasn’t anxiety and fear but it was only manipulation. After they gave him a safe space to help him reintegrate into the classroom they removed it and told the therapists “he was too comfortable” kind of a strange thing to not want your students comfortable in a therapeutic day school. At the end of the 45 day they provided my district a report with nothing but negative things about my son. None of his accomplishments just an entire packet of negatives with no recommendation. I told my district to never send it out to anyone and we have to move on as if this place never happened. They told my district in the meeting he couldn’t come back and even when we asked if he could be placed temporarily for another 2 weeks they said no I immediately dismissed him because i didn’t want my son ina place that he is unwanted for a moment longer. There is so much more too this I wish I could add but I’ll leave it at this. Do NOT send your child here for an extended eval or placement!!!!!!!!
