The school has so much potential. The curriculum seems to be great however with the virtual learning it is EXTREMELY hands on. As a mom that works from home during this pandemic, I constantly have to come to the screen to assist my child. More than not, my daughter is on break and I have to figure out what she is suppose to be doing. My opinion, I'm given all the tools to home school but its definitely not virtual learning. I have a son in virtual learning (at a different school) and I have a very clear and set schedule for his breaks and etc. With this school, not at all. Its just not organized. Now today my kid had about an hour of class and she is out for individual assessments, that will take a few days to complete. I just think they need to come up with a better plan. That makes no sense and my child is in kindergarten so this year is extremely important.

I absolutely love this school!! The teachers and staff are the best! My son been going to this school since Kindergarten and he is now in the 3rd grade. Sad that they don't have go up to 8th grade

My daughter is starting 2nd grade this year and we are so excited ! She has learned so much academically since her first year in kindergarten at NMAPA. The teachers she’s had have definitely done their part in educating because we have seen the growth. She can read and write in her grade level. We are so excited to see what this new school year brings !

This is my daughters 2nd year at North Metro. She loves it here. The academics that have been given by her teachers have either met or exceeded the county standards. Her teachers have been amazing and pushed her to do her best. She also loves the performing arts aspects. It really helps to keep her engaged in the school.

I believe that this school is going to be great with the new principal and administration. The teachers really seem to care and I hope that this school finds the funding that it desperately needs. The school communicates great with parents in my opinion. I feel like my children are benefiting from this school. Smaller classes mean concentrated attention on the students. The performing arts program is the real deal. My children are in Kindergarten and First grade; their performances were entertaining and actually quite good. My children are above their reading levels by 2 grades! Every other month, they have a family activity night. We get to show our support for the school through various activities, such as, festivals, chik fila, and skating at the rink. The scholars have technology integrated with their learning. Downside- a lot of families have departed from this awesome school due to poor administration during the 16-17 school year. So they lost lots of funding and teachers. I pray that more families come back to the school next year. The school does not need to get any smaller. I saw on the GCPS website, they only have 260 students. Academically, my children are above where they need to be and most important. They love their school. The team at NMAPA loves my children and it is evident. They know us parents by name. I don't think schools get that personal anymore...

Very unorganized. I do not think this school teaches the things required per grade level. They intentionally leave things out of students grade averages to help their grades and pass them along. Communication is nonexistent between teachers and administration. Every visit to the school is complete chaos. They lack any structure. My children will not be returning and I hope you all do your research before placing your children here. They are not performing at state level and have not since opening 4 years ago.

this school is so bad. i’m not just saying this because i got disciplined. the lunches are barely edible and they don’t even wash the trays. once i found a bug in my food and there’s roaches in the lost and found. the teachers here don’t care at all. i left this school in 2017 because of all of the bad conditions.

I have seen these children perform and recite and sing. They are cheerful while they perform which reflects their joy in what they are learning and doing. I commend their teachers for imparting greatness into their lives. Excellence in learning and performing creates a very bright future for each student.
