We have had a wonderful experience with music and voice lessons from Needham Music the past two years (three kids, three instruments and one voice lesson). Great teachers and the scheduling policies have worked well with school and activities -- we appreciate the alignment with the school calendar. Our daughter participated in a two week songwriting and rock band workshop in 2019 and STILL talks about performing onstage.

Four years ago, I decided to take up the banjo at age 59. I have always loved music but I had never tried to play an instrument and knew nothing about how to read music. I walked into Needham Music one day and Barry, the owner, assured me they could help me get going. He sold me a solid banjo for a beginner and set me up for weekly lessons with Casey Abrams. Casey and I hit it off right away. He quickly got me started with the basics and recommended the perfect instruction book to use as the foundation for my first year. Every lesson was informative, motivating and (most important) fun! Whether we were working on something specific from a book or following a path I had independently chosen to take that week, Casey was encouraging, helpful and very patient with me. He harnessed my primal love of music and always kept me motivated. I took four full school years of weekly lessons with Casey and am still as excited about learning things on the banjo as I was when I started. Recently, I took up the guitar from scratch and remembered how raw I was at the banjo 4 years ago. It helped me really appreciate how much I have learned from Casey. I heartily recommend Needham Music to anyone young and old who is interested in learning a new instrument!

The instructors are top-notch. My teacher is a graduate of Berkeley School of Music. She is a highly accomplished professional musician. I am enjoying the voice lessons so much! The experience is opening up a new world for me. I have no prior musical experience but I feel very comfortable. I am learning a tremendous amount and having a great deal of fun at the same time! The administrative staff is very responsive, quick to answer the phone, on top of scheduling and billing issues. They are conscientious and diligent.

Both my kids take music lessons (drums and ukelele) here and enjoy it. The teachers are super nice and encouraging. Scheduling has been easy, as well as making up lessons. We've had a great experience!
