My son and daughter have been taking lessons with Sean since they were in grade school. They are now teenagers. They love learning with Sean, and are now great piano players. Sean is also teaching them acoustic guitar, electric guitar, and even ukulele. I'm very impressed with Sean and his patience, support, and teaching ability. My kids play very complicated piano pieces now. Sean has helped my son develop his ability to play and appreciate Jazz piano which opened up a new world for him. I highly recommend Sean and Music Lyceum.

Sean is a great piano instructor. He is good with kids (and their parents) and strikes a balance between learning classical pieces and songs you like hearing on the radio. Sean’s teaching method is easy to follow and allows students to learn quickly. Lessons are tailored to the student’s interests and abilities. Sean teaches multiple instruments, including piano, guitar, and ukulele. The home studio setup is clean, uncluttered, and calming. Sean was able to seamlessly switch to online lessons when the pandemic forced us to stay at home.

My son has been taking piano lessons with Sean for 1.5 years and has really developed a strong passion for music. With Sean's brilliant, highly-visual, patented color-coded tablature system, my son quickly learned how to play at just 5 years old! He is patient and customizes his lessons to each kid's needs and abilities. He also incorporates traditional methods such as sight reading and music theory, which is important to us to build a strong foundation in playing the piano. Lastly, he mixes classical and popular songs into his repertoire to keep it fun and interesting for my son. I highly recommend Sean!

Both my kids have been taking piano with Sean for about 8 months now using his method. The kids enjoy playing and learning the piano more than ever because his method is easy to understand which helps with practicing. He has also incorporated sight reading for us which is important in being able to read music. He will listen to your needs and will make any necessary accommodations in order for you to be successful. We highly recommend Sean!!!

Sean personally is a truly gifted, empathetic and exceptional music teacher. But it is his 'system' for reading and playing music that really sets him and the music lyceum apart. Sean's idea is simple, brilliant and it makes even the most advanced pieces quickly and easily accessible to children and adults alike. My teenage son has soared in his piano playing since he began working with Sean and using this astonishing new method to reach ever greater heights. Equally importantly, the music lyceum makes the whole process fun. I cannot recommend Sean or the ML highly enough. Tilly N

Sean is an excellent piano instructor. He has a great personality and is fun to spend time with. His teaching methods are creative and help you easily understand how chords are formed and how to improvise. He works with you to play the music that you like and not just the boring, traditional scales and pieces that a lot of other instructors use. He’s invented his own color-coded method of sheet music that is easy to understand, but he can work with you using standard sheet music also. His home studio provides a comfortable, neat and clean environment and I highly recommend him if you’re looking for an enjoyable experience.

Sean has been teaching my two boys piano for the last 7 years and I have had the pleasure of watching my kids grow and deepen their love for music over the years. Sean is patient and kind with young children and has been able to grow with my boys over time and meet their needs as piano students in their preteen years by continuing to be supportive of their individual creative needs. Sean is fun and creative and I highly recommend Sean Campbell's music lycum for anyone who is looking to build a lifetime love and appreciation for music.

Both my kids, now teen-agers, began taking piano lessons with Sean when both were in grade school. I wanted my kids to learn how to enjoy music not just by learning piano the traditional, restricted and rote lessons of my youth. Sean offered my kids his own method of teaching. As the years passed I could see how both my kids started to enjoy playing the piano. I proudly hear them play on the piano the music they like. My son likes to play some tunes from Hamilton. My daughter likes to play Billie Eilish.

My son, who just graduated from high school, wrote in his college essay, “My teacher Sean opened the world of piano to me. He made me understand the language of the notes on the paper, the scales of all twelve keys, the structures of harmonizing the scales, the finger exercises, the chords and triads, and rhythm and expression. Sean has taught me songs such as: Invention No.4 and Praeludium XII by J.S. Bach, Maple Leaf Rag by Scott Joplin, Take Five by Dave Brubeck, Pure Imagination from the film Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. What I admire about Sean the most is that he is a well-rounded piano player and that is what keeps me motivated.”

When Sean opened his own studio, Music Lyceum, more than a year ago there was no question that we would continue with him. His knowledge of music, his patience and his method of teaching has been instrumental to my kids’ music enrichment.
