I found Montellas through Facebook one night and took advantage of their free class. I should explain that my son is very shy, quiet and did not like anything that required physical activity. In school he was fidgety, had some trouble with focus and confidence. That first class, he was EXCITED, did all the moves, and left the class telling me he had so much fun and wanted to come back. We signed him up that day and two years later, he's focused, confident, disciplined and happy when he achieves a big milestone. He's made friends in the class and isnt as shy as he was. He looks forward to each class, and he LOVES the extra classes (outdoor, halloween, glow in the dark) they offer throughout the year. The instructors (Shihan Chris and Shihan Wendy) are so patient, kind, engaged, communicative and attentive. Montella's Karate Academy is definitely one of the best and I'm very happy I found them!

My 5 year old has been attending classes at Montella’s for a few months now. We’ve done organized sports before, but thought his hyperactive self could benefit from something with more structure too. A few belt promotions in and he knows the names of all the moves, is capable of standing still (in 2 minute increments, but still!) and enjoys going to class. They teach karate of course, but also reinforce values like friendship and self-discipline too. Shihan Chris and Shihan Wendy are amazing with the kids! Great experience!

Shihan Chris and Shihan Wendy are both incredible instructors, they're very knowledgeable and patient. The atmosphere is fun but professional. The class goes beyond kicks and strikes, Shihan Chris teaches the kids how to be their best selves. I see the lessons he teaches the kids at home. I love how he creates relationships with these kids. My daughter really trusts him and that means the world to me

Montella's Karate Academy teaches much more than karate training into their students lives. Their instructors are role models who are friendly, calm, and patient. They will teach your kid(s) the necessary skills to learn how to be defensive rather than offensive, build self confidence, encourage self discipline, be respectful to themselves and others, and promote character traits to be successful in anything your child chooses to in their future.

My son absolutely loves his karate class. Chris Montella is so great with the kids and he is a 6 degree black belt so he really knows his stuff. It’s a super comfortable, clean and fun atmosphere. I highly recommend Montella’s Karate Academy. A+++++

If I could give more stars, I would. Both Shihan Chris and Shihan Wendy are so good with the kids. The give great structure and discipline, it has been working well for my son. He loves going and learning more. I highly recommend!

Shihan Chris and Shihan Wendy have created a stellar karate experience. They prove consistently how deeply they care about the wellbeing of their students - from taking requests from the students on fun activities to carefully instilling confidence, respect, and positive attitudes in every child. They provide so many personal touches that I appreciate as a parent - from congratulatory postcards, to phone calls to check on a sick student, to remembering little things about your child that make them feel important and seen. I cannot recommend Montella's enough and am so grateful that my son has the opportunity to learn from Shihan Chris and Shihan Wendy!

My son loves coming to Montella's every week for his karate lessons. Shihan Chris and Shihan Wendy are absolutely fantastic with their students. They incorporate character building lessons into each class in addition to learning new Kempo karate forms and focusing tactics. We are thrilled to have found this gem of a school for our son to be a part of.
