Gibran Saleem is an unreal teacher. In just a couple of weeks, our beginners' class went from serious cringe to laugh out loud funny. Gibran creates a supportive environment where it's safe to be outrageous and super cool to fail (in other words, a place TO LEARN)--a vibe we all picked up on and mirrored from day one. Not to mention, it doesn't suck to workshop your stuff week after week with a brilliant national headliner!

I took Ashley Austin Morris's stand up class, and she is an amazing teacher. I highly recommend. She is incredibly insightful and can quickly assess each student's natural funny and how to enhance it. She is able to critique without being mean which is also a rare skill. Go for it!

Karen Bergreen’s comedy class has been a beacon of light during some of the most heartbreaking and traumatic times of my life. Karen’s guidance helped me step back onstage with a comedian’s perspective, allowing me to frame everything through humor. Her teaching style is both compassionate and insightful, making the process not just therapeutic but genuinely fun. Andy has also been incredibly understanding and supportive throughout this journey. I can’t recommend this class enough for anyone looking to find joy and resilience through comedy.

Loved my experience with school. Andy made the process of registering for comfortable and simple. Did the women’s standby up comedy with Karen Bergreen. She was amazing! I never did stand up before. She was very informative and knowledgeable and gave excellent notes in every class! Would highly recommend not only this school, but her class as well! I’m going to do another one!

Such a great experience. Gibran is an incredible teacher and really takes pride in developing his students. The class is also a great way to meet other people. The best way I can describe it is this is a “New York city bucket list” experience. Whether you are brand new to comedy, looking to improve public speaking, or just want to have fun, you won’t regret joining!

I had a lovely time taking my first stand-up class with Karen at the Manhattan Comedy School. I took the all-women's stand-up class and it was so much fun. The entire process to sign up for the class was easy and the person who runs the school, Andy, is super accessible and friendly. Everyone in the class was so nice and it was the perfect group to be around as I began to build my confidence on stage. Everyone's different performance abilities and professional backgrounds made the class really special. Our group chat is still active more than a year later. The graduation show Gotham was my favorite part of the class. It was an ABSOLUTE BLAST with a packed house and fantastic crowd. Taking a class is a great introduction to comedy and was worth the investment. The confidence and networks I built alone are priceless.

The teachers are Manhattan Comedy School are all working comics and it's great to get feedback from professionals vs open mics. I had the honor of performing at Gotham Comedy Club when Jim Gaffigan stopped by. For many people it is a once in a life time opportunity to experience what it is like to get up on stage and perform in front of 200-300 people. It is truly exhilarating kind of like going sky diving. Highly recommend!

This class was literally life-changing. I initially enrolled jst to try and sharpen-up my communication skills. But Ashley (the teacher) was amazing. Bonding with the super-supportive group over 6 weeks, while we all put it on the line every week, was a great experience. And then a show at Gotham! Much better than group-therapy, but denied by my insurance.
