I am taking Intro to Salsa and have had two classes so far. I have learned a lot already because the instructors go over each step multiple times to make sure everyone gets it. I love it at J&L and will continue to take classes for a long time. Highly recommend to anyone thinking about doing it.

I’ve taken Bachata at other places, but learning from Jenna showed me the difference between what I’d been taught versus the correct way of doing. You can actually feel the difference in major way. I’m actually enjoying Bachata way more than I ever though I could because I feel I’m learning it the right way and I like the style of how Jenna teaches it. Luis is a Beast as well. I have to show love to you as well my friend! With that said, all this talk got me excited! Where’s my Bachata Theme Music? I’m headed to J&L right now!

Great studio for people who want to learn social (as opposed performance team-oriented) Bachata! What I really like about this studio is that they don't teach in combinations - instead, they teach individual moves and encourage the leads to put them together in their own order.

They also teach and encourage people to use a wide variety of basic steps, and spend some time on musicality and on body movement, frame and connection, which are the things you really need to be a good lead.

They don't tend to focus on complicated turn patterns, crazy sensual moves, or elaborate footwork, and with the solid foundation they teach you won't need them - and even if you do enjoy any or all of those flashier types of moves and want to incorporate them, you're still better off having a solid foundation so you can put them in when you want to rather than having no basics to hold your dance together.

I really can't recommend this studio enough!

Jenna and Luis are two of the best dance teachers I’ve ever known! They are patient, supportive, and inspiring, and it’s clear they love their students, not to mention how talented they are. Their classes have a warm and inclusive atmosphere that welcomes beginners and makes you want to keep coming back! They have even been able to be engaging during the pandemic with virtual classes that make you feel like they are there giving you a lesson in your own living room! And now their new beautiful studio will be ready to welcome dancers when the time comes. They have strong ties to the community and are dedicated to dancing and to each of their many students and team members. If you are looking for bachata classes at any level (as well as numerous other rhythms Jenna and Luis teach) I highly recommend J&L Dance Studio!
