My daughter is in gymnastics and loves it! She also likes to dance. So when I saw the ad for jewel dance academy, posted at the facility where she attends gymnastics, I quickly enrolled her. We were both very excited to join. After making the initial payment, there was no communication unfortunately. I guess my expectations were high because KiDsGyM is very organized and keeps parents in the loop, in regards to attire, policies, etc. I was a little confused about the start date, based on the way it was listed in the portal, so I reached out via dm on Instagram because I was afraid my daughter had missed the first class. No one got back to me until yesterday, which was the day before the last class(I think). My daughter also mentioned that she did not like the class, and didn’t even want to go today.

The thing that most concerned me was, no instructor or dance teacher ever introduced themselves to me. Besides the direct message I received yesterday, I literally have not had one conversation with whoever is facilitating this program. No attendance was taken during drop off, and today when I picked up my daughter I did not see an adult at the door, the children were just huddled up in the doorway. That is horrifying as a parent because anyone could have just left with my daughter, no one was monitoring who was leaving with who. I’m not even positive that they knew my child’s name, let alone mine, or even our relation to one another. So I guess it’s safe to say that we will not be returning.

I referred this dance academy to one of my 8th grade students and she loves it! The women over the academy are very caring and professional.
