Be weary of trading a car at this dealer.

I’ve purchased about 50 vehicles and I can spot shady practices immediately. I was contacted on Facebook Marketplace by one of their salesmen, Trenton. He said he had a buyer for my car and asked if I would be willing to sell to the dealer. I agreed and then he hit me with their numbers, “best we can do.”

These numbers were the lowest that could be generated with none of the manufacturer options. While I agree not all options reflect in trade in or resale, the options I had are the most desirable.

In any case, they offered their best at $32,000 for a car they could easily sell in the low to mid $40ks. KBB listed the trade in value from $35-$39,000.

Shop around before you use this dealer. There are lots of dealers in the Kansas City area that will give you what your trade is worth. Definitely worth the drive to avoid tactics like these.

For all the future car buyers, make sure you bring all the information with you. Don’t let dealers like this show you phony numbers that don’t reflect the value of your vehicle. Go in with a number in mind that you are willing to spend and don’t budge on it. Don’t fall into the trap of markups, maintenance plans, or warranties. This is extra money directly to the dealers pocket that is only in rare instances for your benefit. Remember, if they are pushing it, it’s probably something to avoid!

I bought a car from this dealership and was told they would replace all 4 rotors and brakes as they failed to inspect the car prior to purchase. They only replaced 2 of the 4 and now they won’t return my calls. Multiple calls in the last few months with no response other than they will check into it. I also had to purchase 2 new tires immediately after purchasing, which they did not disclose was needed until after it was purchased. In response to the business’ reply your information is inaccurate. Your service team did the inspection following the purchase and was unable to align the vehicle due to they determined it needed 2 front tires and all 4 rotors and brake pads. They confirmed the dealership would pay for the brake pads and rotors, but not the tires. Also, the main issue is the lack of communication and customer service. Yes someone answers the phone, but always takes a message for a manager to call back and I have yet to receive a call back from all of the messages my spouse and I have left.

After some major headaches with another local shop, they were able to finally get my evap system fixed properly and the check engine light off. On Friday September 6th, I went over to check out some deals around 4pm. I found a 2015 Jeep Cherokee Latitude with only 91,600 miles for under 13K. They treated me well and did not try to take advantage of me. My out the door price was 14,420. I believe it was a great deal. Haven't really found one elsewhere that comes really close. They got me out by 6pm and took it home that night. It's a fun pretty well equipped suv that will be safe when the bad weather comes.
