Boaters beware. In November we had our marina have the shafts picked up and serviced by Henry H. Smith. On 12/15/23, we received word that the shafts were checked and found to be good. They confirmed they would clean them up and return them by the end of January. On 1/26/24, we receive word that our shafts and couplers were mixed up with someone else’s, and that our shafts were released to another customer. How does this company not have a system in place to protect your product that we entrusted them with?

The next mess is after the mixup we found out our shafts are cracked and need of replacement! Per the other review below, it appears these guys do not have the ability to properly identify cracks in shafts.

Stay away from this place.

I had (2) shafts sent here to be checked. They initially said they were fine, however upon further inspection one was “maybe cracked”.

Bill from Henry Smith could NOT have been more unprofessional and rude on the phone.

After the confrontation I picked my shafts up and took them to their competitor in Clinton Township. They were able to use a dye penetrant to verify both were indeed cracked and in need of replacement.

I’ve heard similar stories from other boaters. I suggest looking elsewhere.

While scrolling down the review lists I notice an unusual amount of "Dan's" that liked Henry H SO, it is clear to me that "Dan's" appreciate Henry H. Smith enough to praise their customer service, knowledge and work! The "ladies" that work the service counter have all of that going on and a talented machine shop team behind them. I have had the occasion to tap into their knowledge and use their services a couple of times over the last few years.
So do what "Dan's" do, relay upon Henry H. Smith for all of your prop and shaft replacement and repairs!

The team here was able to make a new driveshaft for my Mastercraft when the one I ordered online (from a different company) was on backorder. Not only were they able to make me a new shaft within a week but they were also able to repair my damaged propeller. They even allowed me to come in after regular hours to pick them up. Highly recommended!

Had a propeller repair done by these guys and I'm extremely satisfied with their quality of workmanship and customer service. They are very friendly, responsive and have lightning fast turn around times. I'm hoping I don't clip any more stumps with my prop, but if I do, I know I'll be sending it here for an excellent repair!

Sorry guys, I have no clue why google added a rating for you, I never intended on it. I was just looking up prop repairs and intend on using you for my quicksilver prop. I just got this reply and it does not give me a way to remove it, I am sure the service will be great so I will update this with my experience once I get my prop in and back to you.
