My wife, our 11 month old baby and I were traveling across the country when our van broke down just outside of WaKeeney on a Friday, just before 5pm. We called Michael from the side of the road while waiting for a tow truck, and he began his above and beyond customer service. Not only did Michael promise to stay open after hours “whenever we made it there,” he also went to another car parts store to pick up the part we needed, before they closed. Michael was fair, honest, and transparent throughout the entire process. He provided more than spectacular customer service- he showed us kindness and genuinely cared about our situation. Reading the other reviews about him, it’s clear to me that Michael not only possesses the skills to repair your vehicle, he has a heart that cares for people. Thank you, Michael, for showing three strangers kindness and helping us get back on the road early the next morning.

Pulling a heavy U-Haul trailer with my loaded-down 2008 Chevy truck , I had serious engine problems and found myself stranded in Wakeeney Kansas on a Sunday morning. No businesses were open.
By chance, I came across Ghumm’s Autos & Treasures. Their sign said closed. But I saw someone sweeping. I desperately knocked. Michael, the owner, offered to take a look at my truck. He spent four hours on his day off, canceling plans with his family, to locate the nearly impossible to find electrical problem. He was thorough and honestly communicated throughout every step of his diagnosis.
The problem was an item that most mechanics would have overlooked — and instead, would have charged me thousands of dollars to install a new engine.
Because of Michael’s efforts I was back on the road in my smooth running truck!
I cannot thank Michael Ghumm enough for his kindness, diligence, integrity, experience, very reasonable prices, and his professionalism! I would highly recommend his services to anyone with a car or truck. He has proven in the worst of situations that he will do whatever is necessary to take care of you completely.

There aren’t words to describe how incredible Mike is. My buddy was driving back from Colorado to Kansas, and his tire blew out right on 70. A tow truck was 90 miles away, and we struggled to get the flat tire off after jacking the car up. Mike offered to drive over to the highway and help us get the busted tire off. After putting the spare on, we drove over to his shop and he put a new tire on. He was very reasonable with his prices and refused our additional tip for his amazing service. Could not say more about his integrity and willingness to help - within an hour, we went from a flat tire on the highway to back on the road.

We were driving back home after a road trip out west, far from home, when we found ourselves in need of an extensive truck repair. We coasted into Mike’s shop after he agreed to work us in. I could write a book about all the ways Mike went above and beyond to get us back on the road the next evening. He provided us with honest, quality, and affordable service. Ended up purchasing a vehicle from them and they sold me a faulty vehicle that the transmission was going out of. They refused to make it right and the car sat there for 3 months before he would even look at it. Nothing like taking advantage of someone.. definitely don’t recommend at all.

I'm beyond thankful for their above and beyond service to me!! My water pump went out on my truck while I was driving across the country. My partner called and talked to the owner (Mike) and he said he would come back (he was already home) and open his shop up and fix my truck for me!! I was in a bind and he got me back on the road within 2 hours. I've never had service like that before. He was very professional and so very kind.
