I decided that I would like painting lessons for my birthday present this past fall. After researching the Jacksonville area, I decided to contact Gordon and set up the lesson package to learn how to paint with acrylics. Within the first 20 minutes of my initial lesson, I knew that I had found a gem! Gordon’s studio is situated in his backyard and is surrounded by a beautiful garden. The studio itself is comfortable and spacious, with plenty of natural light. Gordon is a seasoned artist and his work is beautiful. He is technically proficient and is able to explain his expertise in a way that is easily understood. As a teacher, Gordon is patient, positive and kind. I’ve completed four lessons and have decided to renew another four. His class is one of the highlights of my week and I plan to have my daughter take his children’s classes. I can’t recommend his classes highly enough!

I've known Gordon for almost 50 years. He is a mentor in creativity, form, and landscapes in media including oils, acrylic, watercolor, pencil. He works "en plein-aire" and in his studio from photography and his own memory. Several of his pieces adorn my home and office. Good teacher of both children and adults. Gordon Meggison is one of the most delightful and talented human beings I’ve met. We started our business relationship over 16 years ago and he still responds to me like a close friend. I have known Gordon Meggison for over 40 years and have appreciated his tremendous talent. You cannot pigeon-hole his work because he makes beautiful art in diverse styles. He has lovely classical scenes, compelling abstract paintings, beautiful landscape work and portraits . If you commission him to do work, he is diligent and perfectionistic. You cannot go wrong hiring him to do any particular piece of work. Below is a piece of art we asked him to do which is a scene from a European beach. We gave him little guidance and the rest was his brilliance!

Gordon is a really great painting mentor. I’ve been taking weekly acrylic classes from him for a couple of months and i’ve already learned so much and i’m starting to feel much more confident in myself. I purchased an art print of one of Gordon’s paintings, Iridescent First Light, that I just love. He touched it up and you can’t tell it from the original. Last night I was sitting in my living room admiring the painting and noticed how truly iridescent the painting looks. I just love it. Gordon came to my house to deliver the painting and hung it for me. I couldn’t be happier. I highly recommend Gordon and his beautiful art work.

We are so lucky that we found art teacher Gordon Meggison for our child. She learns a lot through Mr. Gordon painting classes. The teacher is really very talented with extensive experience in the field of arts.
