As a complete newbie to the world of dance, I can not recommend Fred Astaire-South Pasadena enough! Sergei and Mila have both been so welcoming and encouraging with me. I started private lessons in late April, and I am going to be here as long as I live in the area. My confidence is through the roof since I started dancing here! I have found my home at this studio.

I have now been a student at Fred Astaire -St. Pete Pasadena for almost two years. In those almost two years, I have done two mini matches, a stage showcase, and learned a wedding dance with my husband. My husband learned our entire wedding dance in less than 12 lessons over the course of about 4 weeks. I included a video so you can see for yourself how amazing he did thanks to both Sergei and Mila! We love this studio so much, and we are both so thankful for everyone in our community there.

Mila and Sergei choreographed the most amazing first dance we could have asked for!! We went in with no dancing knowledge, (and a lot of resistance from one of us), and under Mila and Sergei's incredible instruction we have learned so much, and loved it so much that's we've kept taking lessons after the wedding! We couldn't recommend their studio enough, whether you're looking to get a dance choreographed, or just to pick up a fun hobby!

Fred Astaire Dance Studios of St. Pete/Pasadena is terrific. Sergei and Mila are wonderful teachers and they make dancing easy and fun. Plus they create a community of friends with parties, fun, and great atmosphere. You can't help but feel great after every class! Highly recommended.

Never danced before… went for a quick wedding dance routine, and found a love we never knew we were missing!

The incredibly intimate and nurturing atmosphere that Sergie and Mila provide at Fred Astaire, Pasadena is truly unmatched! They provide an expertly crafted curriculum created to work with you no matter what skill level and experience you have and help build a strong foundation that allows you to not only beautifully execute any routine, but also to take what you’ve learned and be able to pull out some impressive moves anytime the opportunity arises!
They truly know how to install and fuel a love of learning and have created a community unlike anything I’ve seen before.

My beautiful bride and I look forward to our lessons all week and will continue with this together, because it’s something we never expected would bring us even closer together than before!

First picture is of me at my very first practice party at FADS Pasadena in August 2021. Second and third pictures are of me at my very first FADS dance competition which just occurred November 2023! When I say that ballroom dance changed my life I’m not kidding!!! Since starting my dance journey I’ve changed jobs, chopped off my hair, made tons of wonderful friends at the studio and made many, many memories. Mila and Sergei have helped make my dance journey one of the best that it could possibly be. I have never had any former dance training, but with their expert guidance I have been able to learn 14 different dances - twelve of which I was able to do at the competition. This doesn’t even include the choreographed stage shows! There is so much quality at this studio and the community is very welcoming. I highly recommend it to anybody thinking of trying out dance or improving on their own style.

Just started taking classes and love it 😊! The community, the instructors and the studio are just amazing! You have to try it to know the difference between their teaching methods and the others. I am very happy to learn dance from both Sergei and Mila!

Updates: Still love the dance and the studio. I can see my improvement and enjoy the dance even more now. It’s the best dance studio in the area for sure.

My husband & I took private lessons with Sergei for our first dance song at our wedding. We both came in knowing NOTHING about formal dance, and in only 6 lessons in a time crunch (we are professional procrastinators) we were super comfortable & confident on the dance floor! We built a foundation in dance & truly loved each & every lesson. Sergei is absolutely amazing at what he does- he is so knowledgeable, patient & keeps it FUN! The community at this studio is absolutely incredible, everyone we met was so uplifting- some even stayed late from a group class to watch us “perform” our finished dance one more time as a confidence boost. We would recommend this studio, Sergei & even trying out dance lessons to ANYONE! Thank you for helping us look great during our first dance as husband and wife.

I highly recommend this dance studio!
I have been coming to this studio for about half a year now and it has been an incredible experience. I knew nothing about dance prior to my lessons, and they put together a lesson plan tailored to my schedule and abilities that has allowed me to become proficient in the basics of more than six dances, to the point where they can be used socially at parties and events and also more formally at studio hosted dance parties. The more I delve into dancing the more I see just how many complicated adjustments go into making a dance look effortless, but through helpful visualizations and practice exercises they have simplified the learning process. Mila and Sergei are professional in their demeanor and even more so in skill level, they are supportive and naturals at teaching.
If you are considering coming here to try it out, go for it! Bring a partner for couples lessons or come alone for private lessons, you will not regret it. I hope to see you there, I’ll be the guy getting my money’s worth from the complimentary espresso machine 😂
