"Does anyone know an honest mechanic" is kind of a cliche question on every local FB neighborhood group. Since most of us don't know much about cars, we want to trust that a mechanic is going to be fair, honest and not take advantage of us. ... So, with that in mind, I give 4+ STARS to Frank's Auto Repair for the service I recieved from Paul in March, 2022.

A weird electrical issue caused our 2009 Corolla to stop running when idling and Paul went above and beyond to find the issue. It was a riddle with wiring issues from a previous owner, an alternator that had recently been replaced and some other factors that made it more difficult to diagnose. But Paul kept at it and kept me informed every day with calls and text messages or promptly returned my calls. He was fair about the time it took and - MOST IMPORTANTLY - he found and fixed the issue.

The car was going to a family member who's a new driver and Paul recommended some additional service for safety - like brakes and a transmission line (see pic Paul texted of the brakes w metal-on-metal) - and explained why they were worth considering. No hard sell, just reasonable explanations in terms I could understand. I always felt like he had my best interests first, not trying to upsell service.

In the end we got a car back in better shape than when we started and one that gives us peace of mind for a young driver. ... Great, trustworthy, high-quality service. Pretty much a perfect auto-repair experience.

I had been a regular customer of Frank’s more than 10 years ago before moving to California. When I returned to the Boston area, I moved to Framingham and made the mistake of trying to find a new mechanic near me. After multiple bad experiences, I’ve decided that the drive to Waltham is more than worth it to return to Frank’s as my go-to Mechanic. They are not only excellent mechanics, but they are honest, good communicators and treat you with respect. I highly recommend!

Even better, Franks has the skill and experience to work on anything, including my 1967 Mustang and 2003 Mini Cooper, both of which have been turned away from other shops.

This is the third time I have been to Franks and every time it has been outstanding. I brought my car in for a routine oil change, a tail light repair and general check- they disvovered I needed 4 new tires- they were dangerously in need of replacement. They gave me a great price- if I had brought this to the dealer I would have spent at least twice as much- they did an awesome job and I now feel so much safer in my car as I do some traveling by car. Frank's Auto Repair and Tire Center did a FANTASTIC job on my brakes. We shopped around several places before we decided to come here. They took the time to assess my vehicle and even made me aware of another issue (and offered an affordable solution) that I had with my vehicle that I had previously noticed but was not sure of what was wrong.
Great customer service and great AFFORDABLE prices. Not to mention a quick (but not rushed) turn around time. Excellent attention to detail. They were also very accommodating on very short notice.
