I needed to have my turning signals/hazard lights fixed. They were only working intermittently.

Two local mechanics (I've been a regular customer of both) refused to help even though I told them my car was unsafe. They told me to call back when the turn signals/hazard lights were completely broken. In other words, they wanted me to risk getting into a car accident.

The car dealership wouldn't even look at it because the car is more than 10 years old.

John Francis told me to come right on over. He stopped what he was doing to look at the car. He determined that it needed a new flasher, ordered the part, and had me come back the next day. It took 20 minutes for him to fix it.

Even if he made a mistake and replaced the wrong part, if I come back, he will replace the other possible culprit (a broken switch). But he said, in his many years of experience, it's rarely a switch problem. The flasher will be the solution.

You know what? Either of the other two mechanics who turned me down could have provided me with the same courtesy.

I will now never bring this car to another mechanic.

Don't be put off by the look of the parking lot or buildings. These guys do great work at fair prices. I've been using them for decades. I've referred many people to them and they have had similar good experiences.

I was at the Target nearby when my car battery died and I was stuck. Luckily I was able to get a jump but I was really worried and frazzled about how much juice I had left as there was corrosion around the battery (I had just arrived from CA a few days prior and had young kids with me). I googled a nearby mechanic and just showed up. John was fabulous. He took the time to check my battery and told me it was good and didn't charge anything. A life saver when I was feeling overwhelmed. He is now my go to person.

I've never left a google review before, but I have to for this shop.
Earlier today, I was left with an unhappy misfiring car 3 1/2 hours away from home. I called multiple different mechanics in the Stoughton area seeking anyone who would just read a code for me so I could know what's wrong with the car. Of course, no one had the time or interest to deal with it, even after explaining how bad of a situation I was in and that I would pay any dollar amount just for someone to look at it. No luck. Before I had completely given up all hope, I found one more shop in the area, Francis Auto Repair. The technician at FAR was more than happy to read the code and help fix it. Within 30 minutes, my car was all fixed up (bad coil) and I was on my way back to my home state. The mechanic was incredibly friendly, kind, and knowledgable. The pricing was more than fair for the parts/labor/help especially after dropping everything he was doing to deal with my car. If you find yourself in the Stoughton area with a broken car, this is the place to go. I can't thank them enough!!
