Bill worked wonders for my old, 1976 Evinrude 75hp outboard. He is very knowledgeable, priced reasonably, and responsive. Another tell tale is his shop - it's clean and organized. You can tell he takes pride in what he does. He did a lot of work for me and all was done well. Above all else, Bill is friendly and was willing to walk me through the repairs, answering all of my questions. I'll be using Bill from now on for all repairs, refurbishing, and wrapping. I highly recommend him!

I called Bill a couple weeks back and told him I had a gear lube hose that was leaking. He told me to bring it in which I did on a Sunday night. Bill called me Monday morning to discuss the problem. Tuesday morning he called and said it was fixed. I couldn’t believe how quick he fixed it! He put the new hose in which was not easily accessible for a DIY job. He filled the gear lube oil and I picked up the boat Tuesday night and I plan to put it in the water next weekend. I’m really satisfied with the work, the price and Bill’s overall attitude to want to help. I would recommend Forge Pond Marine based on this experience.

I bought an older outboard from Ed about a month ago - a 1992 Johnson 150hp. I realize that it is an older engine and that it was sold as is, but Ed was insistent that the engine was in perfect working order. Almost offended that I would suggest it wasn't. He was hesitant to let me compression test it because he has been working on the engine for years and claimed it was not necessary. I should have backed away then but thought he was just a busy mechanic, confident in his work. The engine has all sorts of problems that did not arise until I warmed the engine up while in use. It has left me stranded three times in three outings, one time requiring sea tow. When I contacted Ed for help he told me that he wouldn't help and that "I should contact the guy I bought the engine from" I watched as Ed collected his part of my cash for the engine (which he sold to me at his shop) and he gave the rest to his friend who sold the motor through him. Last time I checked, that means he sold the engine. I am now stuck with this engine and at the very least I will need to put hundreds of dollars in it to get it running again. He couldn't even take the time to talk to me about it.

Had them change an impeller and distributor, and de winterize boat. they used a knockoff impeller which caused constant overheating on my boat, would have been better off with the old shot impeller. Didn’t time the engine right was shaking violently when running and was extremely hard to start. The gear oil and engine oil were not changed a boat mechanic buddy of mine went through the boat and found that the timing was extremely off, just a 5.7l small block 350 1995 nothing special too it. I would not recommend them for service
