I have only visited this location for my physical therapy through Mid-America Orthopedics. The facility was very clean and the floor plan was open and easy to find what you're looking for. They use small signs hanging from the ceiling for temporary use spaces (like my therapy) so be on the lookout for those to find what you're needing.

Nice place. Big basketball court area, a track, and even child care under certain hours. I went for the pool, which is relatively small. You have to pay a quarter to use a locker. Saddest of all, no hot tub.

We brought our 4 yr old for Toddler Level 1 swim lessons. I would like to say “Thank you” to Mr. Jackson for being very patient and teaching our child the basic swim lessons. Mr. Jackson had 4 kids to watch and teach and it seemed overwhelming to me. Overall, I think he did a great job with the kids in his class.
And to Ms. Kinsley, for level 2 instructor. She had the same number of kids and she did a great job with the kids.
We look forward to continuing his swim lessons with DRC and their staff.

Small to moderate sized weight area but usually not too busy. Upper track, bball courts and large swimming pool. Reasonably priced membership.

My friends & I used to go to the drc to hang out after school, but ever since I became a sixth grader the employees treat my friends & I like we’re just trouble. Definitely not a minor friendly place. They wouldn’t even let us sit by the vending machine & eat snacks, if we couldn't eat at the vending machines why are there tables? My friends and I would always pick up after ourselves. I could understand not being allowed over there if we weren’t picking up after ourselves, but we were. They wouldn’t let me use the track either. The track says kids 10 and older can run the track, I don’t see the issue. the lifeguards would scream at us if we were in the locker room for “too long” as well (using the rr or changing). No matter how much respect we show the employees they treat us like nuisances. We paid to be there just like everyone else. I also got screamed at by this bigger brunette lady who works the desk for using the elevator one time ever because I didn’t know they had an elevator & wanted to check it out. The elevator has no restrictions, if we aren’t allowed to use it put up a sign. I would have understood if it was handicap only but there wasn’t anything that said I couldn’t use it. There’s no need to cause a huge scene. Embarrassing. I used to have fun at the DRC, you see all the reviews by adults but I am one of the only kids standing up to how un-equal they treat kids. Which is wild to me since we’re literally over 50% of the money they get. Once we came to the DRC and the vending machine was broken and they blamed us, made me regret even going up to the desk to let them know that it wasn’t working. Check the cameras if you really think that we rigged it, like what? How could that have been us if we had just got there? They treat kids like pests. I could understand if there were kids that were actually causing trouble but not all of us are like that. Teach your employees respect instead of making kids cry. Also since rrr is connected to the drc they never let me pass level 4 swimming lessons & I had to retake it like 3 times? I’m an adult now & still don’t know why, I missed a class the first time I had to retake it so I understand that but the other times? I wanted to be a lifeguard so bad when I was younger & never got to for that reason. As an adult now, I wrote this review when I was like 12, I’ve only been to the drc twice since then because of how badly they offended me. as a child who went to school right by the drc & would hang out there after school I will still vouch that I didn’t deserve any of the unfair restrictions/behavior I got from the staff & was really well behaved when I used to go there. I started going to the library instead & they never had an issue with me. I’m having my first kid soon and I hope and pray they don’t treat him like I was treated there when I was younger. Hopefully the staff is better now.

I trained here for around 4 months while I was in Wichita. Weight room is a little small, but it had everything I needed to get a great workout. 3 basketball courts plus 2 extra hoops on court 1 for the little kids. There's a pool, yoga room, 1/10 mile track, VERY clean locker room with showers, and curtains in the locker room if you are on the shy side. Membership also gives you access to the Oaklawn location that has everything plus a computer lab with printers and scanners. I'd give 1000 stars if I could.

Side note. I hit a recent PR here. Squatted 455 for 5. The Rogue bars are top notch!

Place is clean with plenty of activities. Bought another membership to use the pool although it gives access to the whole REC. Have been able to swim laps without much waiting. The temperature is 86 degrees which is really too warm to swim comfortably. But it gives my husband the access to practice for a triathlon that he has soon.
