My son has been attending this school since 1st grade. Hes going into 3rd grade. The first year was amazing. We had a lot of bumps in 2nd grade. Mostly with bullying and the teacher wouldn't do anything about it. I finally had to (politely) raise hell with the school counselor and it subsided a lot thankfully. Although not my favorite, i did learn to understand the teacher as well. This school is not as bad as people think it is. Some of the teachers like to challenge the students and i enjoy that. They do amazing theater and music performances and hold lots of events. When I'm in the lowest of my low they also offer me assistance with food packages. Ms. Rose in the front office, Ms.Mckee the principle, and Mr.Lewis the school counselor are all really amazing people. Ms.Rose has been very accommodating with me and my son due to some legal situations. I asked my son if he wanted to switch schools but he wants to stay.
Let me add in - Dont believe all negative rumors you hear.
Thank you to the dietz staff.

We love Dietz K-8! They have awesome teachers! Our principle is always working to make the school even better. She listens and seems to genuinely love the children. We have nothing but praise for our school. We have children in grades 1, 6 and 8 this year and look forward to a great experience!

This is a horrible school! They LOST my 6yr old nephew!! He was found 1.5 miles away on golf links and Pantano. How can any school remain open after that!? TUSD needs to clean up their act! This unacceptable. I understand that it's crowded. But spend your attention on the smallest ones. So many bad things could have happened to him. This school refuses to gives us any straight answers. Please know that your children are not safe. This school is not safe and should be shut down. At least make it strictly an elementary school and not a k-8. They are more worried about covering their own actions then being accountable. Rose in the front office was rude and never once apologized for the loss of the child. She only gave excuses. They told the bus picking the child up that he had already been picked up. But that was not the case. He was walking alone along a major street. He was found by a stranger but yet the principal said she went looking for him. They let out at 12:50pm and he was found about 2:30pm. This is ridiculous and this school needs to be held accountable. I would have given them a negative star but a 1 was the lowest. Do NOT SEND YOUR KIDS TO THIS SCHOOL!!! TUSD IS A HORRIBLE SCHOOL DISTRICT!!

Horrible school. Yanked our son out of there. He now attended Marana District School. 100% improvement in his behavior and learning since. If you want to see the quality of education at this school just check Lilly's grammar below. She was probably top of her class there.

I went here as a child, when I was in First grade. The school was horrible then (this was about 23 years ago or so) I'm 30 now. Anyway, I still remember the principal was Ms. Brown & she literally made me swallow soap (actually pulled out 3 different ones) & I was told to pick my flavor. I remember my brother being mean to me on the playground, right after arriving (he had shoved me and said something that embarrassed me, so I told him to shut up). Now, I understand that word wasn't ok, however...to make a child actually swallow soap for it?! That's abuse! And I remember telling my mom I was afraid to go to school everyday & would even pretend to be sick, in order to avoid my horrible 1st grade teacher (can't remember her name for some reason), but she would actually bully me and say mean things to me, then when I would start crying, she would forcibly put mebin her lap & hold me tightly, and say, "I'm not going to put up with this kind of behavior, now stop crying or you will just have to sit here. Long stor short, my mom came to spy on the teacher one day (to see why I was so afraid), & a few minutes later, my friend asked me a question, & as I started to answer her, my teacher slapped me on my upper right shoulder with a ruler & told me to stop talking. So, of course my mom stormed in & pulled her out with me to talk in the hall (she let her know what she saw & that she would be reporting her to the principal). We went to the office next & did so, but the principal excused my teacher's behavior. So my mom pulled us out of that shool right then! The reviews are 100% correct that these people would rather cover up, than look after your children. My advice, DO NOT PUT YOUR CHILDREN IN THIS HORRIBLE SCHOOL, because it's quite obvious it hasn't changed much at all!!

SO far the teachers are GREAT MRS. PARKER, MRS. SOBERG...office personnel are always courteous,..cant say much for the principal though, last year new to the school, I have a child w CP, she told me, leave your application here and I will pass it on to the right school, well come 1st day of school my son had NO school..... His application was still sitting on her desk, she could have called and told me I don't have time to do this, I would have understood, took 2 weeks to find him a school, seems like TUSD passes the buck when the tough gets going!! Thank God we finally found Mr Serafini and Ms. Emily at Gridley Middle School!!!

From a student's view this school is an outstanding school. I was a dietz dragon for three years for middle school and I have no complaints, The teachers are helpful, administration is always working to help and everyone just works hard all the time.
