Quite museum with a trove of local history including a historic hand built log cabin, a 1901 C.W Parker carousel, and a fun historic telephone interactive display with switchboard. We've been there in the past but most recently went for their Christmas event and we could not have had a better time.

We had a quiet unhurried visit through this richly educational museum about local history! The volunteer staff were kind and helpful and encouraged our grandchildren to watch for interactive exhibits they could touch and enjoy! We'll visit again!

This place is very enjoyable! The carousel takes you back a century to a simpler time. The huge collection of phones and the history behind them is very interesting. There is so much to learn here. All of the exhibits are great, including the big barn full of old cars and machinery. Definitely worth the stop!

I really enjoyed this museum. It's bigger than it appears on the outside. There is a really nice display of phones--one of the finest I have seen. There are a few interactive displays for younger people. The carousel is also a highlight and is worth a look. They are still working on it as of this writing. For the $10, I thought this was a reasonable price for all you get to see. Plan on 1-1.5 hours.

Visited here on our drive home last October.

We always try and find old carousel's when we travel and they have a nice on here.

Was great to see some of the history in the heritage center then top it off with the carousel ride.

We only had time for a quick stop but we absolutely loved riding the carousel! Our family of five all said this was our favorite carousel we've ever ridden. The inside museum inside looked extremely well done and the out buildings were such a great surprise as we headed out back to ride the carousel. Definitely worth a stop!

Don't let the front of the building deceive you. There is a lot of displays and history inside. We loved it. And I rode the 1901 carousel. My favorite thing ? a must see when in Abilene KS.

This hidden gem is amazing. They have thousands of items and historical pieces of the telephone and telegraph world in the building and then out in the grass behind they have a little town built with old buildings including a carousel from the early 1900s that predates the kind that go up and down, instead the horses rock back and forth.

The staff are awesome and friendly and there is so much to see for the small price of admission
