Mount Vernon Creates was the perfect space for our vow renewal and 10 year anniversary party! We loved that we could bring in our own food, and really appreciated suggestions from Denise for using the gazebo for our vow renewal ceremony and Frosted for cupcake dessert! Highly recommend the space! Thanks Denise!

We hosted our wedding rehearsal dinner at Mount Vernon Creates for 60 people. It was perfect! The space is beautiful and so unique! Denise was amazing to work with. She was so flexible and nice. She went above and beyond to help make our celebration a success. It was also very affordable compared to other venues!

MVC is an amazing gallery tucked into a vibrant community. The diversity of art reflects the efforts of many talented Iowa artists. The large venue space gives you the opportunity to step back and enjoy the art in a manner somewhat similar to an experience at a museum. Though I've not attended a musical event, I'm certain that it would be a delightful experience in the same space.

You really did a dis service to Corey and Cheyenne when you booked a graduation party the same day as the wedding. This venue was booked over a year in advance. There was a verbal agreement we would have the space for the day. Corey was notified about two weeks before the agreed upon date of his wedding that you booked an event on his day. You informed him the graduation party would be done at 1pm. This is not enough time for set up for the wedding. We scrambled to try to find another venue. Of course 2 weeks is not nearly enough time to book a venue. We had no recourse but to use Mt Vernon creates. It’s the ONLY reason Corey and Cheyenne didn’t cancel. This is a breach of the verbal contract to say the least. The venue was not cleaned after the graduation party. A member of the graduation party offered to sweep the floor for us. The members of the graduation were still seated when we arrived and didn’t even start to disperse until they saw wedding members bringing in boxes. Graduation members were trying to pack up and remove their items in the same space as the wedding party was trying to set up. Cheyenne made a seating chart based on the way the tables were placed when we were showed the site. We were informed we could use all the tables. We decided on the lower tables for guest and the taller tables for food gifts etc.We specified how we wanted the tables and made our seating chart accordingly. Cheyenne visited and took pictures several times of the room in order to make this chart. Our entire family were let down, saddened , and felt cheated , because of the amount of money that was paid. There was confusion about the bar. Guest were charged for drinks when you were informed it would be tallied at the end and paid for by the Kilkers. Cheyenne had to leave the the reception to in form you once again not to charge her guest. Needless to say we will never use this facility again, and will inform others of the experience. It would serve you well to learn how to professionally execute the experience you promise to give customers in the future.

Do not have your wedding here. Denise overbooked the venue for the day. The first party was not over when we arrived, we had to wait for them to leave and then scramble to set up. Denise was aloof and unconcerned. If you care at all about your wedding look else where.

Galleries that exhibit regional art are the best way to recognize the artistic talent that is often overlooked. Outstanding works in a non judgemental environment. New York, LA has nothing on this place and it's great art.
