Had my father go here worse experience with a mechanic I’ve ever had. They even placed the part I needed replaced incorrectly and instead of fixing it they instead opted to placing grease all over the so that the coolant wouldn’t leak out anymore. We went back to see if we could get any semblance of money back but instead told us no, we told them that they basically robbed us and was responded with “you basically robbed yourself” don’t go here if you don’t want your money taken by liars

THIS SHOP WILL SCAM YOU!!! I originally took my car to Dave’s March of 2023. My insurance company paid him 3487.60 cents to repair my car. I took my car back to Dave’s 3 times for the same issue within a few months. After having the same issue I finally took my car to two other repair shops for a second opinion. There I learned Dave’s did not replace the timing belt. He just took the money. I ended up having to pay for the repairs out of pocket and will be taking Daves to small claims court.

Visiting the area had a fuel supply line go bad. The people I was staying with said to take it to Dave's auto. Brought it in on a Thursday morning pick it up on Friday afternoon. Excellent job Thank you

We moved to the area in October of 2022 and had a bad experience with another mechanic. I called David for a quote, and without seeing my car, he explained more of what was going on than the shop that had had my car for the last 48 hours. I then picked up my car and took it to David, and he fixed the problems for half the cost within the day. Since then, he's been my go-to mechanic. He'll take the time to explain what's going on, give you service/price options that meet your needs, and he never forces or tries to upsell services. We'll gladly take our car here as long as we live in the area.

So, like anyone, I was skeptical about trying a small business mechanic. I was extremely nervous about being lied to or overcharged. David calmed all of that. He's amazing! This shop is honest and beyond reasonably priced. He found what was wrong and listened to all of my concerns even when I had a hard time explaining them. I cannot recommend David's Auto Service enough. I'm proud to say that I now have a go to mechanic, and I'm comfortable telling anyone to try him out.

David came out right away on a Saturday morning to jump start my car. We talked about battery life of cars when they are not driven every day. Great customer service and very knowledgeable! Oh and because he had serviced my car previously- there was no charge for the jump start. I appreciate his kindness!

I have been going to David's auto shop for quite a while with several vehicles and several problems. Always have great experiences in getting the issues solved. The latest problem was a leak in the differential cover on a 2000 tundra because of rust. The only way to fix it is cutting off the original cover and welding a new one on. They did the job and saved me a lot of $. I think they can fix just about anything.

We were in the middle of a multi-state trip stopping overnight in Michigan City when we noticed the Check Engine light on. I called David and described the situation, and he said he could run the diagnostic for no charge, but that if anything needed to be fixed, it could take several hours. He was able to get me in first thing in the morning and checked it out, told me what the code was and what it meant, reset it, and we were good to go. Just the system had noted several instances where there was low fuel coming into the engine. The place is old and there's no sign out front, but he's a straight shooter and a trustworthy mechanic. My dad used to say the best mechanics don't look fancy or have to advertise. David is affirmation of that.
