Went here for the first time last night and it was great! They had some awesome live music in a cozy space with some seriously talented musicians. The bartenders were very friendly (they also knew how to make a good drink) and the prices for everything were very reasonable. I would come back here any time for some great local music and a good drink 😊 highly recommended if you’re in town!

I was injured and disabled the last time I came here and required seating. It’s no secret that seating is scarce in this establishment. Once you’re up that’s it- on this particular day they had stand up so the chairs and tables from outside were brought in. All of the bar chairs were taken so I took a seat on some of the lower safer seats. I mistakenly assumed that the new owner had made this change. I thought it worked out well considering my circumstances but I was wrong. The owner began bringing the tables and chairs outside, and rather than talk to me about it she basically scolded me like a child. I attempted to explain myself but she cut me off and said “uh uh. No no no no no. That’s not gonna happen.” I went out -ONLY- because the elevator made this bar accessible, and I wanted to support my dj friend upon the reopening of an establishment they REALLY liked. I can tell a lot about a person regarding how they treat others but ESPECIALLY those who are physically impaired. Once she took my seat we left. I’ll just say this- my bones were temporarily broken. The impression that women left is permanent. We’ll never go again.

The music was really really good but the older man bartender totally messed up the vibe by overcharging for drinks that weren’t even filled the same amount at all (one of them having visibly less) when I asked if it could be slightly cheaper he said “that’s how much it is” with a straight face and just overcharged me :/
also, if you don’t know how to make a lemon drop, please just say it and don’t serve a shot of alcohol alcohol with lemon juice (he couldn’t even bother to put a dash of sweetener) I’m sure the older bartender can understand how that was way too acidic but decided not to care. How can you expect a tip lol?
So yeah, inconsiderate bartenders overcharging you can really ruin the vibe but at least the music was good and honestly the younger female bartender Was way nicer. Hopefully if I come back, none of this will happen again, because I really did like the vibe in there. It was neat and the lights in there were gorgeouss!

Everytime I come for an event I get reminded that I would choose bishops over a club anyway of the week. It's funky, it's spunky, and the people are always inviting and open
