I have brought my daughter to Ballroom East since 2009. She takes private lessons and is a competitive dancer. The training she has received from Charles, Chase, and primarily Linda has developed her into a world class ballroom dancer. It is her passion, and this is like a second home to her. They treat her like family, and I always trust that her best interest is their priority. From the first time we visited, we have always been welcomed, and I have witnessed the same for any guest that walks through their door. I would recommend Ballroom East to anyone looking for a well rounded ballroom dancing experience whether it be for recreation or as a serious competitive dancer. This is their passion as well, and it shows in every lesson they teach.

We started taking lessons there last fall. We drive from Lexington to Louisville for the lessons. We take lessons from both Charles and Linda. They make a good team. We started taking lessons there because they have lots of experience with USADance competitions and have stayed because they are helping us grow and keep pushing us to reach our potential.

They are very knowledgeable about Ballroom dancing. They understand the many different aspects of Ballroom dancing and are very passionate about helping their students improve.

For the past 7 years, I have been a competitive dancer here at Ballroom East. Everything I have accomplished in my dance career is because of Ballroom East. To teach ballroom dancing, you must have a lot of knowledge about it and Linda Jackson, Charles Jones, and Chase Abell have all of it. They make your experience here fun, comfortable, and worth every bit of the investment. I am happy to call Ballroom East my second home and am happy to call Linda, Charles, and Chase my family. Ballroom East is a wonderful studio, with instructors that are knowledgeable and care about the learning process of all levels of dancers and ages. I started going with my husband for group lessons and a social dance on Fridays and have been so happy with the progress we are both making, individually and as a couple. I couldn't imagine a better evening out with my husband ? than to learn a few cool new dance moves and practice the ones we're trying to perfect at the ballroom studio through private lessons, and during the group lessons and social that follows. It's always a pleasure and has given us something we can continue to do for a long time. ? Thank you Ballroom East! Father and daughter attended to prepare for a formal event/dance in Washington DC. Both enjoyed all the lessons and learned so much. Both felt very prepared for their event. Father had never danced before and the lessons gave him the confidence to lead and hold with style and strength. Our daughter enjoyed the dance and time well spent with her Dad. Our instructor, Linda, was patient and knowledgeable, experienced and fun to work with. Our family would highly recommend lessons at Ballroom East to anyone preparing for a presentation,wedding or for a social dancing. We had a great experience!

I have yet to take a private lesson with any of the owners/instructors at Ballroom East, but I can comment as one who has had a long relationship with them through the excellent assortment of group lessons that they have offered over the years. As one who has only taken the group lessons from them, I feel that they are one of the best studios period for learning the social aspects of ballroom. Given the success they have had with competition dancers, they are one of the best studios all around. Regardless of the level being taught, whether it's the very basic lesson they do for their Friday dance parties, to the Advanced lessons they do on a 3 month cycle of a given dance step, everyone, at any level of ability, can learn alot when they take the lessons there. I have been acquainted with the studio for around 18 years, and I can say that I still learn something new at each and every session that they teach, no matter how rudimentary the steps being taught. I should also note that at $5.00 per class, it is still one of the best bargains for group dance lessons in the area.

Linda and Charles are very knowledgeable about ballroom dancing and they make it fun for their students. Teachers need to be patient with new people, and they are. I didn't realize how much I would enjoy this type of dancing and meeting other people who feel the same way. Plus, the location is very accessible, kind of the middle of Louisville, (what people call "the heart of Saint Matthews"), so I can easily make it there after work. I think they have been in business since 1986?, so they have probably taught hundreds of people. They must be doing something right, to be in business that long.

I love going to Ballroom East. Linda Jackson was the first instructor in Dec 2012 and she has been so encouraging to me and to others as well. She is always on top of the game and has a cheery, funny and sweet disposition. LInda strives to teach us to be the best dancers possible. I highly recommend Linda. Charles and Chase are instructors as well, and each has a different teaching style and I learn a lot from each of them! If you haven't gone...YOU need to!
