I have danced with Amy in the past and she is an incredible dancer and choreographer. My daughter now 5 has been with her since she was 3. I am very impressed with the quality and professionalism of her dance company. My daughter enjoys dancing in the Nutcracker every year and the fairy tale ballet in the spring. Her shows are always extremely polished and well rehearsed. She is highly trained and skilled as a teacher for our youth.

My daughters have been dancing with Amy since she opened her studio. Her taste and creativity are always impeccable. I have always been pleased with the content of the classes and how they are taught. Amy is professional and teaches in a way that is age appropriate for her various groups but also encourages respect for each other, the studio, and the art of ballet. Every year I am so impressed by the recitals Ballet Kalamazoo produces and how each class shines within the greater whole and it all works together. Amy reacted to Covid restrictions quickly and provided classes at an extreme discount to keep her dancers engaged. She was able to provide master classes, which my daughter loved. Ballet Kalamazoo has my complete trust when it comes to the safety of my daughters during this time. I have always found Amy to be very responsive and open in her communications and thorough.

Amy’s studio (Ballet Kalamazoo) has a local reputation for being a kind, welcoming environment for dancers at all levels. I have personally known many of the families whose children attend this studio, and they note how Ballet Kalamazoo differs from other studios, in that it is supportive of the whole child while maintaining the high standards necessary of a quality ballet studio. In addition, the quality of the instruction is very high. Amy had trained with several professional companies and not only knows dance, but knows the pedagogical aspects of teaching it.
As an adult, I take classes at this studio. I have danced with several other studios in town, and this one is by far the best. It has the most quality instructors of any studio locally, and the atmosphere encourages growth both in movement and in oneself.

My daughter has danced at ballet Kalamazoo and had Mrs. Amy as an instructor since she was 3 years old going on 4.5 years of dancing, my daughter loves ballet more than ever and has learned a tremendous amount when it comes to technique and why ballet dancers do what they do. Amy as an instructor is clearly passionate about ballet and works hard and diligently with her students to foster their love of dance. She is a phenomenal instructor that I, as a parent, would recommend to anyone!
