This was a godsend. Our daughter is academically brilliant. Amazing in all subjects. She tests off the charts in all subjects. She is also an award winning artist. Beyond all of that she is a sweet, kind beautiful soul. With severe anxiety and social awkwardness. She came from a very small private school. She has her heart set on BG, as we live so close and she always thought that would be where she went. She didn't last a week. Michelle in the form of an angel fell into our laps and had our daughter in classes by the second week. Freshman year has some bumps, but overall it's been wonderful. Thank you GSAA for putting in the time and love to help nurture the artists and the dreamers. The world needs all of them ❤️

My son was attending our local public high school, which is one of the top public high schools in the state. Although we live in a great school district, the traditional public school was not the best fit for him.
He had anxiety, wasn't doing well in his classes and absolutely hated going to school. It was a serious struggle.
When we heard about GSAA we reluctantly considered it. After much research and debate, he made the switch in his junior year.
It was the best decision we ever made regarding his education.
Because of the art based curriculum, he had the opportunity to play his guitar, learn piano, as well as draw and paint throughout many periods of the day. Because he was able to express himself creatively, his grades improved in his core classes as well. His favorite classes were Math, Physics and Economics... classes he hated at his traditional school.
He graduated GSAA this past June (2016), and will be taking classes this fall at Harvard University. I can't say he would be were he is if we hadn't made the switch. I never understood Charter Schools or what benefit they had, especially if you lived in a good school district. Since being a part of one, I understand not only the benefit, but the need. I highly recommend you consider Granite State Arts Academy if you are looking for an alternative to your student's traditional public high school. I'm glad we did!

Our daughter was always a little "different" from her peers at Pelham Public School. She beats to her own drum and carries on regardless of peer pressure and we've always supported her decisions. We knew she had talent and a love of the arts, but we didn't know to what extent until she started attending GSAA in her freshman year of high school. We have learned to never underestimate her abilities. She thrives in the GSAA environment and her hidden talents have truly amazed us. GSAA builds tremendous character, self-respect and confidence in each and every one of its students, whether it's theatre, art, music or the core curriculum. The faculty and staff are top notch and walk beside the students every step of the way.

We discovered this school by recommendation from one of my daughter's 7th grade teachers in Derry Public Schools. We checked it out and absolutely love everything this school stands for. For the first time since kindergarten, my daughter is excited for school to start in the fall. She has ADHD and has always struggled academically, but thrives in the arts. After her shadow day, she didn't want to go back to ger middle school. Knowing where she was going for high school pulled her through the rest of middle school. She has already made great friends at GSAA and she hasn't even started there yet. I wish GSAA was there in 1982!

My son loves this school! He has come out of his shell so much since starting at GSAA. And I love the fact that he loves to go to school now.

He has grown so much in the past 2 years at GSAA not only in his art but as a person, GSAA has a way of getting their personalities to shine through and grow.
