My daughter has been taking weekly art classes at Art School of SF Bay on Irving Street for about 5 months now. I love how she gets to learn different techniques, learns a little art history prior to each new project, and comes home with beautiful works of art that are all her own. The 2-hour classes are really great because they give the kids time to focus. Highly recommend!

The watercolor art camp with teacher Katya was so amazing! My daughter had a blast exploring different art techniques and the watercolors they created at the camp were just fantastic. She even used techniques that she learned at the camp to create watercolor Valentine's Day cards for her classmates.
Teacher Katya's passion for art shines through, and her guidance makes each lesson super fun for kids.
My child has already asked me to sign her up for the summer camps at the art school.

I’ve taken two painting classes at the Art School of SF Bay and I need to shout out the amazing instructors, Jason, Hugo, and Luca. They all do a fantastic job of meeting people where they’re at with their art and encourage folks to try new things or experiment. The best part of the classes for me is just having a dedicated time and to get some painting done in a supportive and fun environment.

I started to take classes here last year (2022) for Figure Drawing. It wasn’t until I took the Acrylic and Oil Painting class taught by Hannah Wynkoop that I really fell in love with this art school. She is a great art teacher—able to meet all of her students at their current levels and build not only everyone’s art skills, but also their confidence in art. I have attached some photos of my work done in class.
I really appreciate how relaxed the environment is and how, unlike other art classes, all the materials are provided for in the school. It is very easy to make up a missed classes. This is such a supportive and fun environment that I have already signed up for more classes.

I have had very little acrylic and zero oil painting experience before my classes with Hugo. After learning some important basics about color and Impressionism technique , Hugo allowed us plenty of space and time to get to work. I am impressed with what he was able to help me achieve! Hugo offers a very laid back class but is available for input and tips as needed. He encourages exploration and is very knowledgeable but, most importantly, he’s a nice and flexible person who creates a comfortable learning environment. I live in Marin and make the trip to Hugo’s class in the city because I like the kind of class he offers. He is a kind and talented artist who is fun to paint with! Thanks Hugo!

I took the Academic Drawing class with Luka and it has become one of the highlights of my week - even (and especially!) as someone with zero background in art. Luka has a way of explaining things that are incredibly supportive and understandable, and I've learned so much in just a few weeks. The classes go very fast and are pretty intense, but I learn so much every time. We're already planning our second course after this one wraps up and looking forward to it!!

This is an updated review for Art School of SF Bay summer camp.
This year I've signed up my daughter to the Fan Art camp. She absolutely loved it! She kept showing me her artwork and even made an Open Studio at the end of the week to show everybody in the family her paintings. She has already asked me to sign her up for the next year again.

My 6 year old daughter absolutely loved Nature's little gems camp in San Francisco! Julia and Katia are the two teachers and my daughter really liked them. Every day she would come home with great pictures and every evening she would ask me if she can go to this camp again and again. Her work was way more sophisticated and advanced than anything I've seen so far.
This camp is really educational and fun at the same time. There is even a backyard where kids can run around. Definitely signing her up for more camps and if our schedule permits I would love to sign her up for classes next fall.

We have recently had a teen birthday party for our daughter at the Art School of the Bay, and were very pleased with it. We worked with teacher Maria to communicate regarding the event organization. Maria was very kind to accommodate our needs of party of 10.
We chose a Studio Ghibli/Miayazaki animation theme for the party, and kids sketched and drew under Maria's attentive and gentle guidance.
We also used the studio's backyard where we arranged snacks, refreshments and a birthday cake. The studio has a small kitchen and a fridge. Maria also kindly provided folding tables and chairs, which was very convenient.
