I began taking oil painting classes with Stacy about a year ago. It had been something I had been wanting to do for years, but felt intimidated and overwhelmed. Stacy is an amazing teacher. In addition to being welcoming and encouraging, she presents materials and theory in a manner that is clear and accessible. She is incredibly knowledgeable in her field and is generous with that knowledge. Above and beyond being an excellent instructor, Stacy’s art (be it painting, drawing, print making, sculpture) is incredible and inspiring.

Stäcy is an awesome teacher if you want to learn archival oil painting. You get some art history, some art theory, and a lot of information on painting traditional, multi-layered techniques used by the old masters. There are a wide variety of people in the classes I’ve been a part of from working artists and art educators to those of us in non-art related professions who just love art. You learn how to properly prepare your supports, which pigments to use and which to avoid, various underpainting techniques, painting, glazing..... and so on. I’ve enjoyed my time under Stäcy’s tutelage and highly recommend taking classes or private lessons from her.

Stäcy is an extremely talented and knowledgeable woman. She has in depth knowledge of materials for oil painting, especially archival painting, acrylic, watercolor, drawing, and more. She is an engaging teacher and so fun to work with, and most importantly she can help you improve your skill at any level!! Worth every cent!!
