Absolutely the best tango teaching in the Greater Detriot Area. Unlike other places offering tango, ATD teachers really break down the steps so everyone can understand exactly how to move and they ALWAYS say it in a positive way. Tango might be the most challenging of the partner dances but these teachers leave you feeling wonderful about yourself. You can't help but want to return and return and return.

I went here with a coupon from one of those deal sites (I believe Groupon or Living Social). My husband at the time and I were interested in learning tango and salsa and they offered a really good deal. We had a great time. There was easy parking right in front of the studio which was quick to find. The instructors were fun and detailed. The atmosphere was welcoming. The other clientele was friendly and it was nice to watch the really good dancers. It made for a memorable night. They also had a variety of classes at convenient hours. I've recommended this dance studio to several people and hope to go back soon.

Lori and the other instructors are very easy and fun with teaching people the different styles of dance. You don't have to have a partner, but I did bring a date there and it was a great time! I've taken the salsa and tango beginner classes and had a great time. I'd definitely like to go back and further my knowledge & advancement in learning those styles, as well as some of the others. I just wish there were more days or times available. I'd definitely recommend to someone who's never tried dancing before.

We have taken the Tango dance lesson both beginner and intermediate. The owner/instructor is very nice, helpful and patient. She doesn't rush your learning. She takes the times to make sure you understand the steps and then makes sure they are done correctly. When you walk in, they always make you feel like your part of the family. The classes are always fun and you always meet nice people whether you go by yourself or as a couple.

The Friday night Tango class was a date night success. I loved the small intimate atmosphere filled with dancers at different levels. Amanda and Dontonio were patient instructors, and their routine was easy yet complicated enough to keep my attention. I'd love to return.

I learned a lot during my 4-week class, but ultimately had to quit after a traumatic experience.

One of the other dancers came to the studio inappropriately touching the women, disrupting other participants, and was visibly drunk. The instructors told him multiple times to calm down, but did not feel the need to remove him.

He slowly became more and more agitated and at some point began to target me, because I refused to dance with him. I’m 5’2 and keep to myself. I was sitting on the couches watching the advanced class when he decided to target me. It went from him verbally attack me for not wanting to dance with him to threatening bodily harm.

Although both instructors witnessed the event, neither one intervened. The man wouldn’t leave my physical space so I had to move away from him. Luckily, another male dancer was nearby and that seemed to deter the man from taking further action. Nothing was said to me until I asked to make a formal complaint. Both instructors seemed sympathetic to the man and tried to minimize the scene that occurred.

I’m extremely disappointed in the way the situation was handled and don’t feel safe returning. It makes me sad, because I’ve been studying tango for months now and have had to discontinue my studies out of fear of being attacked. I hope this never happens to another woman and next time the instructors will be more proactive in managing the people they allow into their space.

My husband and I have taken three lessons and have really enjoyed it. Lori is engaging and knowledgeable which makes her lessons lots of fun. There are always extra dancers to help out if you don't have a partner. It is located in a great area with lots of restaurants and bars around. It has been a great date night for us!! We bought a punch card for 5 lessons and it doesn't expire and is good on any of the lessons. And you just show up when you want to take a lesson. No advance notice required!!
