I first visited Allen Conservatory of Dance in 2016 while I was visiting my family and needed to take ballet class. I am originally from Allen TX but have been working in New York City as a professional dancer for 15+ years.

Miss Stefanie welcomed me with open arms and even offered me studio space to rehearse in during the day before the evening classes began. From that day a beautiful friendship blossomed!

Allen Conservatory of Dance offers an safe space for students of all ages to learn ballet. The students have multiple opportunities to perform on stage throughout the year. Miss Stefanie brings in professional dancers from major companies to teach masterclasses and intensives. She even provides opportunities for the advanced students to dance pas de deux, which is rare in smaller dance schools.

Miss Stefanie has built a family environment which is not easy to do when teaching something as disciplined as ballet is. It’s great to see everyone supporting each other. Older students keep visiting years after graduation.

Now whenever I go home, I visit Allen Conservatory of Dance. It’s been a pleasure watching the students grow and improve over the years!

This is the absolute best place for classical ballet training. My daughters have been dancing here for almost 10 years and they have loved every minute! The teachers truly invest in the dancers every day and the performances are top notch. The time and attention give by teachers to every detail of the dancer's technique and artistry is rare. My daughter has been a student for just over 1 year. I’ve seen how much she has grown in both her skill and passion for ballet. The teachers make it fun (she is 7), but also teach the proper disciplines needed to be a ballerina. The best part are the recitals. Instead of traditional recitals, the kids perform an actual ballet. I’ve already convinced one of my friends to switch to this studio, and they are having the same experience as me. Allen Conservatory of Dance has an outstanding staff and teachers that do everything to meet the needs of their dancers. The teachers are talented, professional, friendly and caring. Everything you could hope for in a dance school, providing classical ballet, hip hop and modern, allowing options for everyone. Even after 8 years, I can’t imagine a better place for my daughter to grow in dance.

I have loved dancing at the conservatory for five years now! Their classical training is as elite as it comes (for a very manageable price) and the repertory for the Allen Civic Ballet has been so diverse and fun to learn. I'm glad I joined and got involved with my community and the greater ballet world in the process.

Our neighbor's daughter has performed in programs for the ACD over the last few years. Sat., May 27, 2023 is the first time my husband and I attended a program. We were surprised and delighted at how well it was done! I've sung in Park Cities choirs for 16 yrs. and love classical music, especially when David R. Davidson was our choir director. So I wasn't confident the local dance program would be high caliber, but it was! The music was lovely, varied, and interesting without ever being repetitive or too loud or too quiet. We enjoyed the changes of pace throughout the hour. The choreography was quite sophisticated, even for the tiny 3 and 4 year old performers. The costumes were appropriate for the dances. The ballet costumes were really beautiful! It was so nice to be able to see the dancers up close in the new 850 seat Lowery Auditorium. I used binoculars, but only to be sure which dancer was our neighbor's child. The AC kept everyone comfortable without freezing. The soloists were lovely and quite skilled as were the "regular" older line dancers, who were well synchronized. What a nice touch to let the older line dancers stay on stage in their glittering outfits to be a lovely background for the soloists. I was amazed at the grace of the staff teacher of the tiny children, during her acrobatic solo. It was obvious that the skill level improved with each older age group. Showcasing the progression was quite clever. But most of all, those tiny dancers stole the show, in my opinion! They were adorable in their sparkly ballerina outfits! Watching them try to keep up at varying speeds was hysterically funny to me. Some ran in the wrong direction, but corrected themselves as quickly as possible. Darling! And they ran lightly like little ballerinas, not heavy footed at all. Watching them perform some movements in succession, because they were copying the dancer next to them, meant they were often behind the beat, but that added to the overall enjoyment. Usually, the most together tiny dancers were the two at either end of the line, because they knew where to run to! Occasionally, a pretty child no older than the rest, was directing other children to get to the "right" spot. This was while they were on stage for all to see: hysterical! I held my lips tightly closed and giggled very quietly every moment they appeared! I really wanted to laugh out loud, but didn't, because I didn't want to hurt ANYONE'S feelings! I'm sure the owner, staff, parents, and relatives did not intend for any dance to be a comedy. When the music stopped and the tiny performers were still, we all applauded. Then, every dancer lined up on the edge of the stage to bow and receive MORE applause, so cute. You have to see it! Then as the tiny dancer "line" filed offstage, we'd applaud a THIRD time. When we stopped applauding, there were still a few tiny dancers leaving the stage. I smiled so much, my face hurt. What joy it brought to those of us in the audience who spent years dancing and performing as children and teens (tap, ballet, dance, singing). I also enjoyed the owner's introducing the soloists and staff at the end of the performance. Obviously, they all work extremely hard! Hope they enjoy it as much as I did!!! FUN!!! Thank you!!!

I was a student at the Allen Conservatory of Dance for 15 years. At this studio I was not only able to gain the technique and stamina to dance professionally, I gained lifelong friendships. At the Allen Conservatory of Dance, they focus on every aspect of each student becoming a true artist. They aide in developing proper technique and the artistry needed to connect with an audience. Through many years of training, hard work, and perfection; the staff aided me in landing a position with a second company in Kansas City. There is true professionalism here that focuses on helping the students achieve their goals, no matter how big. I recommend this studio to a range of people; those who just have a love of dance, and to those who have a desire to pursue a professional dance career.
