I have 3 daughters and they have all enjoyed dancing at the Academy of the Arts dance studio. We feel like it is our home away from home. My daughters absolutely love going to dance so much that we are at the studio 4 nights a week. They have excellent teachers, who truly care about the kids. They have excellent office staff who go above and beyond to help. The owners are wonderful, kind, and compassionate about dance. We have danced at Academy of the Arts for 10 years and have loved every minute of it.

Our daughter takes dance lessons at Academy of the Arts in Shawnee and absolutely LOVES it! We had her 5th birthday party there and really liked the atmosphere so we decided to enroll her. The staff is wonderful and the dance family is supportive and welcoming. The dance/performing arts world was foreign to me and they have been so great at helping me learn the ropes. The studio is small enough to be family centered yet big enough to provide a plethora of classes including drama and adult classes. We started out with one class to scratch the itch but have created a full fledged dancer.

I had danced here many years and now my boyfriend's daughter(5 years old) does, too. We have loved all the classes. My boyfriend's daughter enjoys all the teachers and loves to perform on stage. She gets excited and loves to be on stage with all the Dancers. She has made so many new friends and really looks up to the older Dancers who love her as well. I would recommend this studio to people looking for a friendly, fun, and exciting place to dance. I feel there is a good fit for Dancers looking for a good place to start or even the very experienced Dancer. They have a great mix of classes.

We met Allison the dance team coach at Contour 2021. My daughter was solo and feeling overwhelmed after our studio had closed. She took my daughter into her team for the day to ensure she had a dance family today. This was above and beyond. If it were not for being all the way across the metro we would hhave found a new dance home!

Best dance school in town with great teachers. Love how everyone help kids push their limits and helping each other. Teachers are very knowledgeable and very helpful and professional and understand the abilities of each student in the class and recommend areas of improvement accordingly. The director is the best person ever and encourages not just the students but the parents as well.

Dance is different from other sports and activities. It's difficult in a very healthy, complimentary, and beneficial way. It stresses solo and team aspects as well as timing, balance, motion, rhythm, strength, and most of all performance.

At this studio, Hip Hop rocks with Mr Manuel! The dude is the real deal. Melissa and Dat really help the kids learn and master tumbling. Mrs Tonya is the nicest dance school owner in town. Mrs Julie has been teaching ballet since they opened - she even helped install the awesome floor in the ballet room. Ballroom - sometimes - if there's a class through Parks and Rec. This studio is about families and kids kids kids! Allison is a true artist - a visionary - in charge of the competition team. Nanci rocks with Tap classes! Mrs Krystin has been here forever - since the start too and the kids always love her. Mrs Laura, Mikaela, Elizabeth, and Teresa (piano lessons) all get results and the kids have fun. Great place, great people!
