Just got my haircut today. I got a great cut and it was only $8 plus a tip! I have been coming here for several decades and the students always do a great job. It is a school, so they are learning, and the instructors always come around and offer direction and tips for the students. Highly recommended!

There Excellent worth the drive. But if you live in DC catch metro train to Silver Spring stop and walk.They dont have the super long wait like in hospitals or South East DC Barber Shops.

Good hair cuts for only $8.00 by students under supervision of experienced instructors. I've been going there for many years. They also work with women's hair and offer services beyond just cuts.
Update 3/18/23- Great visit, no wait. Very good cut by Maia, with instructor Terry overseeing.

I have always gotten my hair cut at barber schools to save money, and this is a great place to do so. A mens haircut is $5, there is typically no wait, and the students know what they are doing. If you get a pretty basic haircut like I do, you should have no trouble explaining what you want. The woman in charge is attentive and service-oriented and ensures that the students are doing everything properly. They can be overly cautious, so if you are getting your winter mane mowed down you may have to keep asking them to make it shorter. I have never gotten a bad haircut here, and I highly recommend the place.

I have been living in this area for 10+ years and I do not know how this place was missed by me. The people are friendly, greets every customer and best part is this place is an academy plus barber shop. Basically the students get the live training and on hands experience by dealing the customers. The hair cut is five dollars mainly as students get to deal the customer. Brian (student who cut my hair) did a great job and gave me a nice cut. I would highly recommend this place to everyone.
