I've been in this school for 3 years now and I've realized a lot about this school. My first year in this school, I've hated the school a lot because of the amount of work we had and how bad the school food was. My second year though, the amount of work was perfect but the school food was still bad. The school needs to improve the school food because I've gotten food poisoning a lot throughout my last 3 years here. It's my last year in this school and honestly, I'm going to miss a lot of people. Although a lot of people hate this school, this school did have some pros. Overall, I'd rate Academy 1 3.6/5.0.

The newest principal is racist
If you have a child of color be careful and make sure your child doesn’t miss an assignment, they will fail them and there are no second chances. My child went back to his home school and is exceeding well and has been offered to apply into the seeds program. They are not the best option for children of color.

7th grade as of 2024. This school is an awesome experience. Though it has several cons, a student can find themselves really enjoying themselves in this school. However, if you're thinking of going to/deciding if you want your child to enter Academy 1, here's a few things they need to be;

1. Resilient - Academy 1, being the AEP program, hold a lot of homework that can easily wash somebody's grades down like a tsunami if they don't finish it on time.

2. Patience - Also relating to the amount of work, but also including socialization. In Academy 1, it is guaranteed that you will be teased a least once in a year. To overcome these challenges, you simply need to be patient and tell a teacher.

3. Consistent with managing time - Procrastination is a student's biggest enemy. It doesn't matter if you can get it done tomorrow or on Saturday. Every assignment has a due date, and every day spent not doing work is just wasted time.

I have just graduated in the class of 2024 from Academy 1, I’ll be honest even though we all act like we hate the school it isn’t that bad. I’ve learned a lot of things about myself and others from this experience. Even though there are a lot of problems mostly coming from the educator side. I feel that this school is a positive step for my life. I met many people who showed me how to be the best me and challenged my determination. For every horrible teacher there at least 2 pretty good ones.

This is an academic and mid school because many of the people are friendly and fun! However some cons of the school are the bathrooms, some lack of staff, and the messed up schedule for some of the children. For example: JCARTS students.

6TH GRADE: I'm going here for middle school and it's really fun! Teachers and people are great here! School lunch is pretty fine here, it's not that bad. It is easy to make friends here if you are new here and have no friends. I love this school for their education, activities, and celebrations from other countries like Chinese New Year. I rate this school a 10/10 😀👍 (⁠✯⁠ᴗ⁠✯⁠)

7TH GRADE: Ok so um, now I'm in the middle of 7th grade and its an okay school. Not the best but a little better than my old school. Food here now sucks because of the budget but overall the teachers are nice. The only teacher I have beef w is probs my 7th grade Ela teacher. Anyways moving on, a lot of teachers left and there is a shortage of teachers at this middle school so that's uhm, bad. The kids in this school can be a little mean as well bc yk, teenager stuff blah blah blah. There's still events happening at this school like we had a Halloween costume contest and a holiday market, stuff like that. Pretty okay butttttt....not the best. The bad thing is that this school can sometimes easily damage ur mental health and yk how that ends up... Overall rating rn for me is a 3.5/5. Welp, I'll finish this review in 8th grade!

This school is so bad, The school spends money on useless things instead of fixing and cleaning the school, Teachers will hate and target you if you miss one assignment or if you whisper to your friends in class. In 6th grade Mr.Monigle targeted me, once when I showed him my portfolio he looked at it for like 7.3 zepto seconds and gave me a 0. That's only one example of how he hated me also it wasn't just him 6th and 7th grade teachers hated me. And Also the school food is terrible I have gotten so much food poisoning from the school food so many times and the vegetarian option is so bad they give like beans and salad most of the time the only good food item at lunch is pizza and its only on Friday, also in most clubs in the school its basically nothing. And teachers are abusing their power by giving detention for the most simple things like talking. And if you think that's it, the students in this school try to be "edgy" and make weird jokes and say some bad things and so many fights happen right under teacher's noses even when its so obvious. The students are always talking smack about someone, weird, and annoying also some guys be trying to pants you and other guys touch your no no square. Don't come to this school it will ruin your mental health.

Honestly, This school is pretty good! I mean theres a variety of clubs to choose from. And also the food is very good! I mean the tatter tots are good and also the pizza. The school is also really clean too! The only exception right now is that theres a lot of homework and work, lots of signed papers, and sometimes the food is pretty bad. And even though this school is pretty strict, the school is overall good! There are many pros and some cons. I do want some stuff to be bigger like the hallways.
