My daughter has been dancing here for 3 years now. She really has taken off with her abilities and coordination since we changed studios. My daughter had a lazy eye that actually wound up being “turned off” by her brain. We tried conservatively treating it for years unsuccessfully before we decided to have it surgically corrected. Since she moved to Above the Barre, I have noticed her coordination and balance have improved greatly. She is also more confident with moving her body and seeing the space she occupies within the dance. Her strength is amazing now, as well as her ability within dance. We have been extremely happy that she’s not only loving dance, but seeing the improvements within herself too. We will continue to support her dancing here as long as she is interested and improving.

The owner, Victoria, is very accommodating for kids and even knows sign language for any deaf or hearing impaired students/parents. She strives to be inclusive and encourage kids to dance. The showcases that are out on are outstanding and show the hard work and dedication that she has, as well as all the instructors have, in allowing the kids to shine on stage.

I highly recommend Above the Barre for any dance instruction.

My daughter has been coming here for the last couple of years and we could not be more happy with the instruction she is given and how much they encourage her growth as a dancer! Trust me when I tell you that your kids are in great hands under the instruction of Above the Barre and the amazing staff!

I am so grateful to have found this dance studio for my daughter! Ms. Victoria and Ms. Kaylin are so amazing- my daughter adores them and is loving her ballet class. Victoria is an absolute God send!
My daughter is a "late starter" not showing interest in ballet until 11 years old. I've always been a bit tom boyish so finding a ballet studio made me feel out of my element. Being turn away from some and not even responded to by others I was super hopeful when Victoria called me back.
I'm happy to say that my hope was not denied, not only is Victoria still teaching my daughter, but she also took time to help me find the attire my girl would need all while keeping my pocket book in mind.
So if you're looking for someone whose honest, fair, and can engage her students of all backrounds I would highly recommend not looking further and calling Victoria of Above the Barre Dance Academy. Our whole experience here has been, as the name suggest, above the barre.
