Best High School in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. I hated all the other high school where they just push busy work on you. This is a school that teaches you the skills you need to make it in the real world. The students and teachers are diverse so you get to learn how to communicate and interact with real people. The other high schools staff are only there for one thing. A paycheck! This is a school that wants you to learn and succeed both in academics and your life. Don't let people give you false information about this school! Go there and visit and you will see for yourself.

3 of my children went to Metro one to make up credits one graduated one passed away before graduation. The teachers and staff there are remarkable they truly care about their students and the school. So many kids would not have the opportunities they have had if Metro and it's teachers/staff were not available to them.

To often people give this school a bad rap, but I've seen lives completely turned around by the caring and dedicated staff. As an alternative school, I think it's fabulous that real life skills are taught - that's something you don't see in most mainstream public schools.
