We have been doing dance here for 8 years and absolutely love it. We love that the costumes are modest and the dances are choreographed beautifully. Recitals are all done in one day, without multiple days of rehearsals. It makes my life easier as a busy mom. The owner and teachers are very kind and thoughtful. You can tell they care about each student. My daughter can't wait until she's old enough to be a teachers assistant. She loves her teachers!

The teacher Amy was so kind and attentive and patient with the 4-6 year olds in ballet prep. She rocks but the children in the class were rude and disorderly the entire season. The whole group was so chaotic and wild my daughter never did quite fit in as a quite polite little girl. She came home most days saying "it doesn't even matter because the other girls don't listen". I was also a class mom back stage at the recital and it was so chaotic and disorderly, the teacher in charge was too busy boasting herself on stage and performing to help with the show offstage and they had NO staff backstage so when we made a small mistake she was quick to throw all the moms under the bus and complain about us although we only had one rushed dress rehearsal at the actual location. Between show A and show B there was a lady outside the auditorium at a table selling the academy's t shirt, she was yelling extremely crazy at the few parents who were gathered early (as they had instructed us class moms to be 45 minutes early) and some elderly people who were sitting in the lobby. The crowd got into an argument with her and she would not stop yelling. It was just a chaotic negative and aggressive experience overall with the staff (except Amy) being out of breath running around angrily barking orders, complaining, and yelling. The audience was rude and tried to fight my father in law for the seats he was saving for us class moms. It was just an awfully hectic experience for what should've been a happy moment for parents and family, and an opportunity to teach discipline to children. Only in Syracuse would adult women act with such entitlement and with such aggression, the lack of community is saddening. Amy deserves to be a part of a better team. For her I was commuting an hour to take my daughter to class and would've continued to do it of it wasn't for the horrible recital experience.

This dance studio is affordable excellence. The coaches are talented and care about my student. I am so impressed with the progress over a year in both dance technique and tumbling.

The teacher are good, however i think they let their classes get larger than they can handle and still teach effectively. It could be better if their class discriptions we followed and when you sign up for a certain class all the kids in the class were close to the same level of skill. Example there are children far younger than 4 in my daughter advances tumbling class and it seems they get most of the attention.

Our preschool aged daughter is in her second year at Syracuse Dance Academy. The teachers are great with the little girls and have so much patience. I feel like they really get to know and care about them! They are learning the basics of tap and ballet, but they keep the kids plenty entertained while learning.

They are very reasonably priced, and I think 45 minute sessions are totally appropriate for 3-4 year olds.

I can’t speak for the advanced levels, but I would recommend bringing your young children to SDA!

I have three daughters who dance, tumble, and cheer here. They all love their teachers and the experience. All my girls have very different personalities and the staff works well with each of them.

Our girls have loved each of their various classes at Syracuse Dance Academy from tumbling to ballet to jazz. I always recommend this business to anyone who is looking for a dance class for their children. They have a great variety of choices to choose from and my kids have always had fun there. The recitals are professionally done as well.
