Very great place for ALL ages to learn to play an instrument. We feel blessed to have our child learning at 'MINT'. Mrs. Surin Kim is a fabulous piano teacher and is among a group of excellent music processionals at 'MINT'. Would highly recommend this school for anyone looking to learn the fine art of playing an instrument. They have a large event room for recitals, a Steinway and many individual rooms for practice/instruction.

Wife and I have had a great experience with the Music, Institute of North Texas in Frisco. Both of my sons take piano classes here, ages, five years old and Three years old. They are learning a lot each week in their private and semi-private lessons. I think positive reinforcement at home is key as well. They are very structured in their timing which I appreciate.

For the most part MINT is an adequate music school. I found the pace of learning to be incredibly slow. Two months into a new school and my child's skill level, and excitement in music, has improved dramatically.

After a few years of my child learning from this school, we decided to move on to someplace more engaging. When we did this we put in our notice to cancel lessons. At this point there is a punitive cancellation fee (be aware of all of the fees). When we checked out outer schools, to move to, none had cancellation fees. Once we gave our notice - which ended up being nearly 2 months because of the 30+ day notice - the classes weren't taught the same as before we gave notice. We weren't told that there would be a change in format and engagement when we gave our notice to cancel. This was pretty disappointing.

My two kids have attended MINT since 2011. Dr. Ouyang recruits highly qualified instructors, who are both accomplished musicians and excellent teachers.

Thanks to the excellent instruction at MINT, my son completed the RCM (Royal Conservatory of Music) piano program through Level 10 with Honors. My daughter just completed RCM Piano Level 9 with First Class Honors, and is also a violin student. Her violin skills have blossomed at MINT. She won an award from the Crescendo International competition, including a performance at Carnegie hall. She also qualified for Chamber Orchestra as a sophomore at her high school, where she has won several other awards.

The MINT facility is well constructed, with lesson rooms and a recital hall. The recitals are always a delight to hear, and great experience for the students. The environment is friendly, supportive, and encouraging.

We highly recommend MINT if you have a chance to send your kids there.

My children have been taking lessons at MINT for many years. After trying many different schools in the area, MINT is truly hands down the best school in the area. Teachers are professional and the front desk staff is always efficient, organized, and helpful. I would recommend them any day!

My family has benefited from the preschool music classes, small group classes (voice, guitar), private lessons (piano), and summer camps. The faculty is outstanding. They make sure the kids know the technical side of music and the performance side. Lessons and classes are fun and my kids don't complain about practicing. They offer many performance opportunities including recitals, festivals, competitions, and more. I highly recommend MINT for music education.

This institute has a poor management policy especially on the absence. They follow a 24 hour notice period and one should only notify the admin staff and not the teachers about the absences. They quote that Teachers don’t do admin work But teachers are the one to lock the main doors after 8 PM and the more funny thing is it is the responsibility of the parents to inform the teachers to lock the doors . This clearly indicates that management will take no responsibility after 8 PM if there is any loss . Very poor management. They claim they are the best in town apparently not .

My granddaughter has been a student here for 6 years, all under the guidance of Mr.David. Through his guidance, she has become an accomplished pianist. The Institute and Mr David have also helped her develop many ways. Recitals and competitions are always available as well.
