Great lil town to visit. Lots to do for all ages. Big Woods Resturant has good food & serves Quaff Brew on draft. Near Brown County State Park.

Cute little town.
Recommend researching your parking situation as that will be the first order of business upon your arrival. Two parking lots are on the west side. We chose the smaller of the two which is situated directly behind the Liquor Store (the driveway to the lot is the first left once turning onto northbound Van Buren from RT 135). it was around 11:30am Saturday, and we got right in the lot and found a spot with no hassle.
Great weather and nice walk. Unfortunately, the town is not ADA compliant, and we found it difficult to navigate the uneven sidewalks on two legs much less a wheelchair. A stroller is a bad idea as well due to the narrow right-of-way’s.
The leaves of the trees were just turning which added to the beautiful ambiance. Found an annoying and overabundance of black flies buzzing in and around each building.
If you don’t mind crowds, go with a visit on the weekend, otherwise suggest a weekday. But again, research prior to visiting as business hours differ on weekdays.

First time visiting. There's so much to be said about places like this. Quaint, peaceful, serene. The drive is so scenic, the culture is ever present. Going back to visit the wonderful shops.

I definitely need to visit here again when I can stay longer!! And, since it was a Monday, some of the shops and restaurants were closed. Still an historic, artistic, welcoming town in the hills of Central Indiana. Found a little coffee shop in an alley, loved the artist's co-op with local crafts, painting, and furniture. Will come back and enjoy more of the food scene...always next time!!

cute place to visit! we drove here from terra haute indiana. worth the drive. so much worthwhile shopping to do, the clothing stores are ADORABLE. we bought dresses and jackets and bibs and candles and soaps and fudge and baby toys… the shop owners are all awesome. we ate at the pizza place there. we sat with a handsome santa and pretty mrs clause at the historical society… we spent a lot of time at the music shop there. it was a blast. we will definitely visit again next time.

Fun little town to shop, eat, visit local artist studios and browse! Brown County State Park not far at all for some outdoor fun!
