I am learning guitar and to sing, and my girlfriend is learning bass. We are both in our 50's. I talked to the owner and told them I wanted to take a lesson and was interested in trying out their instructor Bart, since he taught both. He said Bart would be perfect for me.

I took a lesson and loved Bart. After the lesson, my girlfriend came in and Bart and I Blair all chit chatted.

I told them my girlfriend and I were going out of town for a week and would we would sign up for lessons when we got back. We all got along great and Blair and Bart were excited for us to come back.

When we were out of town, Blair called me to see if I wanted to take more lessons. I told him yes, and would contact him when I got back. When I got back, he called again. I told him I wanted to take more lessons with Bart. Blair wanted me to buy at least a "5-pack" of lessons.

I told him I was not comfortable with that, as my "trial lesson" was with Bart, and if Bart quit working there (a reasonable concern, as it's a new business, and Bart is the only instructor they have that teaches both guitar and vocals). Blair said no. So I told Blair I would buy a 5 pack of lessons as long as he would offer me a refund, if Bart quit working there.

Blair said he would not. I said "you're going to turn down business from both my girlfriend and I?" He replied "I don't think it's a good fit."

So after telling me that Bart was perfect for me, giving me a tour of his studio, calling me multiple times to solicit business, he all of a sudden says we are "not a good fit".

I suppose he is hiding behind his "policy" of only selling lessons in packs, hopeful customers will buy lessons and never use them all, (similar to the scam that gym memberships use). Or maybe he knows Bart won't last long. Personally, it sounds sketchy. It is baffling to me, especially considering it's a new business, and another studio just opened up near by.

To Bart, I really enjoyed our lesson and wish it would have worked out.

My daughter has taken vocal lessons from Blair Clark for 8 years and it has been an amazing experience. She is now working in the new studio with Joel, one of the guitar teachers, and Blair to record some of her own songs. Its has been great! Highly recommend
