I have had my children at Westgate for ten years now. It's gone through changes and ups and downs just like anywhere. They have fantastic teachers that are excellent at what they do and really care about the kids. The environment feels safe and is welcoming. The staff works together to create the best experience possible for the kids and they are constantly working to improve the educational experience that they offer this community. The principal, David Weiss, has brought many good things to our school and brought a lot of peace and stability. He is a good communicator and he cares about our kids. Westgate is one of the best Jeffco Public Elementary schools you will find anywhere.

The IEP teachers are amazing and have done everything they can to help my daughter excel. If it wasn’t for them I would have left this school years ago. Finally have had enough and at my breaking point with them when they do not take bullying as seriously as they should. They have to many kids to a teacher according to (4th grade Mrs. urich) she has to many students to keep track of. Not only that but morning drop off and afternoon pickup is a nightmare they should. find another area for school bus parking. So that parents with mutilples can drop off their student at the front doors and go on their way. They have no auditorium. Their so called gym is carpeted and not to mention has giving my kid to many rug burns to count. They have no school plays or programs for the holidays due to the fact they have no auditorium and their carpeted gym is way to small to seat all families. Halloween is always a mess. They can work on a few things. But glad to say my daughter will not be going to this school next year.

The staff at this school does not know how to manage bullying. There is no follow up. It became so serious I pulled my child out of the school. He loves his new school. His new school does not tolerate such behavior. It's a night a day difference!!

My daughter has been doing here since 3rd grade now in 6th grade. All 6th graders attended Outdoor lab which is a once in lifetime experience!So glad my daughter had this opportunity. My niece and nephew attend last year also while I had temporary guardianship. My nieces kindergarten teacher was my daughters 3rd grade teacher.We love you Mrs.Ott and Mr.Cook. They worked hard and got the kids up to grade level which I appreciate so much. My nephew was advanced in math by end of year. Great school and wonderful staff. And just to add my child is biracial and never once has that effected her and thats priceless in this day and age💜
