My daughter first studied with Paulo during his mini summer intensive last summer and she began taking weekly private lessons with him at the end of last year. Paulo is a wonderful teacher and has given her so many things to think about and focus on to improve her technique. Beyond that, he brings such joy to the teaching of ballet and she comes home with a smile after every session. Paulo maintains a balance between a really positive teaching style and physically challenging sessions - my daughter is working harder than she ever has (and feeling quite happy to do it.) Most important for us, Paulo has really boosted my daughter’s confidence by giving her concrete and individualized things to work on and positive reinforcement when she makes progress. We are so grateful to have found Paulo and Arrais Ballet!

I just took my first class with Paulo Arrais. As soon as I arrived I felt his warm welcome. What a delight! The classroom has plenty of space and mirrors. The natural light comes in from the top windows. Paulo is an excellent master teacher with creative exercises and friendly encouragement and reminders. I felt really good about the class and plan to continue attending.

Paulo, a former principal dancer of Boston Ballet, is not just a world class dancer but also one of a kind instructor. He is meticulous in his teaching yet always knows how to bring out the better side of each student. You have come to the right place and look no further!! From our first meeting with the school founder Paulo Arrais, we could feel deeply his dedication, enthusiasm and passion towards an all-around ballet education. It's hard to believe sometimes he's a master ballet teacher, with such friendliness and a down-to-earth personality. To watch him showcase any movements truly feels like appreciating a piece of master artwork itself: impeccable techniques were explained in a crystal clear manner; major ballet pieces/characters were introduced (during the class) so students gain important insights of the background story even before learning the movements; heavenly music were chosen to accompany any dance combinations or exercises, and creative pilate methods were adopted to improve specific techniques. Paulo jumped on my daughters' (9 and 7) weaknesses right away and supported their progress both physically and emotionally during group lessons/privates and even after hours so they finish each and every class with a bright smile on their faces; In a mere 4 months since we joined the Arrais ballet school, both girls have made tremendous progress. Paulo will spend his after-hour personal time communicating with me about any issues observed and he has an acute eye for any dancer's best assets/skills (and encourage them to enhance those further). The school also offers adult ballet classes and organizes wonderful summer and winter intensives in its own sun-filled, professionally-built, spacious studios and the students have chances to study with many great teachers and ballet masters from world-renowned institutions. We couldn't recommend Arrais Ballet more!!
