George made me feel very welcomed and valued as a customer here. Came in for a trans fluid change and flush (which they were able to quote ahead of time). They took care of some other 100k maintenance items to ensure my car ran well and wouldn't see any minor issues come the winter. I was called back promptly within the estimated window of service and picked up my vehicle with the friendly staff. Will definitely come back for future service! Great prices compared to the VW dealer down the street.

I had an engine misfire only a few days before the holidays. George and Mike were super helpful. They did the diagnosis for free as well as cleaned the spark plugs and something for the coolant for free which was super unexpected. I had a hard deadline to be on the road by noon Christmas eve and they had it fixed and running by 11! Would definitely recommend them as an honest and reasonable shop.

When our Volvo’s engine started acting up just before we were getting back on the road for the 600+ mile trip home from Boston, the team at Alewife Autowerks didn’t hesitate to have us bring the car in at 3:30 in the afternoon just before a holiday. They quickly diagnosed the problem, and were able to get the car fixed and us back on the road in less than 90 minutes.
The price for the fix was very reasonable, especially since we were stuck and they could have easily overcharged us and we would have had no choice but to pay it.
The staff is very friendly and explained the issue with the engine and the fix in clear detail. They are obviously enthusiastic about cars and are happy to share their knowledge with you.

I can’t say enough good things about this place. George and Mike are both extremely knowledgeable about any car issues across all kinds of makes and models. But in addition to that, they are so unique in that they treat their customers like family. I drive out of my way for the service at Alewife Automotive, because I know I’m being helped by genuine people that care about my vehicle. I had new tires installed, balanced, and an alignment, and it only took a few hours. I wish I had known earlier that they’re partnered with Continental tires, so I could have gotten even more savings by purchasing through them! Still, it was so affordable, which is especially crucial since I’m a recent college student graduate.

Had a sensor issue on our import. Brought it to Alewife to diagnose. They found the issues and awaited parts. They kept us updated and promptly informed us upon its completion. Can't praise/appreciate enough the superb service given. As long as we have an import, this shop is our primary go to automotive shop. Many thanks to Alewife and their technicians.
