Our daughter has been taking dance lessons at the Ipswich Moving Company for 8 years and we couldn't ask for a more perfect experience. Jenny Carlson teaches her dancers to be creative artists who are confident and self-assured. Through the Youth Dance Ensemble our daughter has been exposed to numerous choreographers and has been given many opportunities to choreograph her own pieces. Jenny and her studio have had a tremendously positive influence on our daughter's development as a person.

Ipswich Moving Co School of Dance has been THE BEST dance studio I have found. The teachers are amazing role models for the dancers. The studio is a wonderful community for both youth and adult dancers.
My daughter began classes in early elementary school, and continued through high school. She was part of the Youth Dance Ensemble - a modern dance company. Her experiences at the studio had a major influence on her life. Years later, she continues to be involved at the dance studio as an adult, taking classes and assisting with performances.
The community of adult dancers, ranging in age from 20 to 70+, is wonderful! I began taking adult classes when I was over 45. With no prior dance experience, it has been a challenge. The teachers and other adult students have only been encouraging and supportive. I love it!

I'd been looking for more Adult Ballet classes and am so happy I found this studio! Jenny's classes are always thorough and thoughtfully choreographed. I've been taking classes for a couple years now and everyone has been so welcoming. It's a joy to find so many other adult dancers and a joy to move with them. As an added bonus, the classes are accompanied by an experienced dance pianist (with the exception of summer classes) and the studio has a nice, open-air feeling.

I have been taking adult ballet, modern and jazz classes here for about 12 years and absolutely love it. The teachers are beautiful movers with many years of dance and teaching experience. About twice a year they have professional dance performances which are always fantastic and you get to see the full range of the teachers’ dancing abilities in action. It’s very inspiring and I definitely recommend it for anyone interested in dance - whether you are someone who has never taken a dance class before or have a lot of prior experience. It’s an incredibly welcoming environment regardless of your background.

My son also took Time to Dance, Creative Movement and Ballet 1 classes and looked forward to going every week. So as a parent, I would also recommend the studio for kids classes. The end of the year show is always well organized and the studio doesn’t make you purchase an expensive outfit for the occasion - it’s all about dance, not flashy costumes, so it’s great. The older kids have the opportunity to join a junior dance company too and they also give separate performances. I never miss a single one. You really get to see how much the kids have grown and have become proper dancers over the years.

Ipswich Moving Co is an inclusive, body positive, uplifting place for anyone of any age to find joy in movement and creativity.
