There are not enough words to describe how amazing Julia is. She is a tap teacher in a class above the rest. I have been a student for about 8 years, off and on, and owe all of my elite training to her. She is not only incredibly talented, and an all-around tap legend, but she is an excellent, detail-oriented, encouraging teacher who pushes me to be better. I could go on for hours about Julia Boynton's tap classes. I have been studying with Julia on and off for about 30 years, whenever my work schedule allows. It is always the best hour and a half of my week. Julia is an excellent teacher. She explains tempi in a way that makes sense. She helps her dancers be more than just tappers. She helps them become musicians. Julia's warm-ups are good and challenging. Her combinations are delightful. They make you want to DANCE. Julia's room is warm and fun and funny while also being inspiring and demanding. Even on cold days when I can't imagine getting into my car, I make myself go to class because I never ever regret it.

I’ve been taking Continuing Beginner tap class with Julia for about a year and a half and it’s been so much fun. She has an amazing way of both encouraging and pushing us that gives the whole class a great energy and keeps us moving ahead! She’s an amazing dancer and she has a hello super inspiring teaching style.

Julia's classes are wonderful. Her knowledge of choreography and tap history provides an exploration through the history of tap. She pushes everyone to become a better tapper in her classes. If you have the opportunity, you should take a class from her.

I have been taking tap classes with Julia for about 4 years now and I love it! She is great at teaching/focusing on technique, in addition to doing short weekly choreography that is both fun and challenging. She is an extremely talented dancer with an extensive knowledge of "everything tap". , She's attentive to form and style, which I really appreciate and takes the time to give students individual feedback/critique as needed. How else do you get to be better dancer! Tap classes are definitely my "happy place".

Been taking classes from Julia for more than two decades! She encourages growth for all her students. If you ever wanted to learn tap or relearn from when you were a kid, it’s never too late. Classes are all levels, including beginners for adults!

I have been taking classes with Julia since early 2019. I found it hard to find good adult tap classes in the Boston area. Julia is a great teacher and I credit her for where I am in my tap journey now. The Deborah Mason school has an amazing new sprung tap floor that is an absolute dream to dance on. It’s a rare thing to find a great space and a great teacher, but you can have both here, along with a fun, friendly and knowledgeable atmosphere within the classes.
